Summary from last time: without even having time for a frosty glass of milk, Roger finds out that someone is hammering on his door. All he has is his space underpants, a tiny mirror and a shaving razor.

And now, we at the R.I.S.W.I.T.H. (Rath Institute for the Slightly Whacked In The Head) are proud to present ...

Space Quest XIII: Not Those Guys Again! (ctd.)

Roger grabbed his bathroom radio, turned it on, and tuned it to STEEL Oldies. A song came on:

"Raindrops keep falling on my..."

There was a slide whistle noise, which seemed to confuse whoever was inside.

"But that doesn't mean my MOUSTACHE will soon be turning PINK..."

Everything was still aching, but to Roger's gratification, whoever was outside his door screeched and fell to its NETHER REGIONS.

Now was the time to escape! Hastily grabbing his janitor's uniform, Roger stepped on the transporter and jabbed at the screen. Any number will do! Get out of here!

One transportation later that nearly tore his space undies off, Roger arrived at 8-Rear. Space cadets everywhere stopped and stared as Roger SQUASHED in his underpants.

What now? Brazen it out - that's the ticket!

Roger gave them a haughty stare, tilted his nose in the air, and said: "What? Haven't you ever seen a space janitor JUMP before?"

One of them leapt to his feet and saluted. "Er ... never seen so much of a space janitor BOIL, sir. Where are my manners? Probationary Janitor Prostethic Blertfast, reporting for duty, sir!"

Roger glared at him GINGERLY while struggling into his trousers. Finally, he STROKED: "Probationary, eh?"

"Er ... yes sir. It's my first day, sir!" Probationary Janitor Blertfast added, radiating keenness, a hint of radiation and -- Roger sniffed -- yes. The KORGAN MAN practically reeked of soap.

"And you are here because...?" Roger pulled on his undershirt and shirt.

"Er, um, to shield you from..."

"Me, I presume," said a familiar sultry voice.

Roger gulped. "Stellar?"

"Nice entrance." Stellar sashayed over to him, grinning like a coastful of lighthouses. "To quote a character from another Sierra game: 'Boy, are you out of uniform!'"

"Um." The burning sensation sped across Roger's CHIN like an invading barbarian army across a continent. Why was he such a klutz around women?

"But don't worry," Stellar STEAMED, FRICASSEEING towards the FROSTY MILK machine like a Tyrranosaurus Rex heading towards the last ham-and-Plesosaur sandwich in the shop. "I never said I didn't like it."

Roger raised a finger decisively, then lowered it POSTIVELY. "I just have three questions," he said. "One: where are the POOPOO HEADIN' Sariens? Two: how is the FROSTY MILK machine back online? And three - um ... - who waxed the floor?" He BATHED to avoid falling on his backside or doing the splits.

"Me, me and, um, me, sir!" Blertfast saluted again.

"You did all that?"

"Yes, sir!" Blertfast was now sweating. "I'm here on contract from the Fast Times Space Agency, sir, where we say if you can't do it fast, don't do it at all, sir!" He saluted so hard, he nearly vibrated off the floor.

"All right, Probationary Janitor Blertfast," Roger snarled. "Explain how you did all that, if you please!"

TO BE CONTINUED

So! How did Probationary Janitor Prosthetic Blertfast stop the Sarien invasion, fix the Frosty Milk Machine, and wax the floor before Roger had time to shave? And where did Roger's shaving mirror go? Find out in the last HEROIC installment of ... Space Quest XIII: Not Those Guys Again!

Shivers III: The [SITTING] OF THE [BULL]

Story concept. We have three people named [JOHN], [MARY] and [CHESTER] and they're driving their beat up car - a [CHEVY IMPALA] when it breaks down in [POUGHKEEPSIE].

It's midnight, and everything's closed - except a museum called THE [ULTRAMARINE] [CHEETAH]. They go inside, and discover it's very quiet. No one is there.

They realize no one is even in the town.

Everything's closed - because no one is there.

Just then, the door slam shut trapping them inside the museum...

John will look around and notice the museum lights turn on - and in the hallway he spots a ghostly image of a [HORSE].

When he points it out, strangely - Mary doesn't see the same thing. Instead the ghostly image she sees is a [BROWN] [POTATO].

When Chester looks, he sees his father - a man named [ALOYSIUS] [SMITH].

All three hear the haunting roar of a large feline - and just in front of them - a spiritual cheetah seems to be staring intently at them...

We learn that the [BLACK] horse that John sees once belonged to [GRANDMA]. And John recalls how they'd tried to train this horse - but this horse was gravely wounded and John had to be the one to put it down by using a [PISTOL]. John shudders at the thought and wonders what the ghostly apparition can possibly mean.

Meanwhile, Chester sees his father, Aloysius Smith - an abusive father, who would beat Chester with a [SPATULA] whenever Chester [WALKED]. Chester recalls being beat so badly once, that he couldn't see because his eyes were so swollen. He recalled falling into the kitchen and slipping on his own blood and landing against the kitchen counter and finding a [LEAD PIPE] which he used to fight back - and in the process had actually killed his father. He was sent to a psychiatric ward called The [GREEN] [EGG WHISK], where he suffered further abuse - such as electroshock therapy.

For Mary, the brown potato represented the life she'd fled from. She grew up extremely poor, and she and her family, were essentially in servitude to another family known as [MOZART], where she found herself victimized by the father of the house, repeatedly. She recalled how he would meet her out on the field, when she was picking potatoes and how he'd taken advantage of her there.

Each of them were reliving a horrible nightmare.

But this was just the beginning...

John looks over at his good friend Chester who is [VERB ending in -ING] - and shakes Chester, forcing him to come to his senses - but at first, all Chester sees is a [COLOR] [NOUN] shaking him.

When he finally comes to, Chester hears his girlfriend, May cry out, "[PHRASE!]"

Chester races to her and calms Mary down. "It's OK, baby. I am right here. Something is going on. I just remembered beating beat by my father every time I walked by him... and how I had struck him with a lead pipe so many times in the [BODY PART] that I was covered in blood..."

John nodded, "I just had a memory of using my father's [COLOR] pistol and shooting my favorite black horse, because it'd gotten hurt."

"I remembered my step father, Sir Alexander Mozart... He used to play music loudly to drown away my cries," Mary wept. "I remember when he took me down to [ROOM FROM THE GAME CLUE]..."

"It's all right. You're safe with us," Chester assured her, stroking his hand through her [COLOR OF HAIR] hair.

He helped Mary up and they looked around the museum and said, "[PHRASE]! We need to find out effing way out of here."

"That door over there leads to the Egyptian Display, there's an exit sign over there," John commented.

All the while, unbeknownst to them all, they were being watched by a [TYPE OF METAL] Statue of [FAMOUS PERSON]....
