I am stoked. It's saying it will work with Windows XP - I wonder if that's without DOSBox and I wonder how the sound and stuff is. I will buy them all, even though I have all the games on CD anyway, just for support of the classics.

I checked for Quest for Glory and Gabriel Knight... neither of them turned up results. So it looks like just the original quests. However, if these sell well, they might be inclined to do the others, I'd imagine.

All I want is an XP compatible Windows version of KQ6, the reat of the games run just fine in DOSBox with the NewRisingSun patches. I would imagine that they are simply reworking the SCI engine to run on XP. A much easier task if you have the source. FreeSCI has to be reversed engineered. I don't think that they will spend too much time recoding the games themselves.

Great bales of moolah in the morning! That's great. I only semi-tried one Space Quest (numero IV) out of all those Sierra games, not counting the KQ of course. But now I'll be tempted to get 'em all!

Agree with you completely. King's Quest 6 was only the second game I got for my first PC (A Win 95 back in '95ish), but I still say it is the best game I ever have played.

Oh, fudge. Just watch, they'll keep pushing and pushing it back. I remember when I was looking forward to the Heroes of Might and Magic III release. It was rather funny actually. Kept calling 3DO over and over. It eventually was pushed back nearly a year.

Well the wife has it on order for me... so now I sit and wait.

I have all the games but:

1. Want to show my support
2. They're inexpensive
3. They're supposedly made to work on Win XP.

Methinks this would be a great chance to catch up on some of these games so widely proclaimed as (at the very least, cult) classics. And if they come out in December, all the better! Time to save up for them and not miss my (presumably) small window of oportunity to get them :D

KQ6 = Greatest of all computer games. Or as Al said, "It is the template by which all other adventure games should be based.

I love KQ6 - because at the time it was ... er, no pun intended - but king of the adventure games.

I do think however, if KQ4 had come out with those graphics and music, that KQ4 would have been better. I really loved KQ4. But KQ6 has the modern stuff on it. [Very Happy]
