I was inspired by Tawmis' Lighthouse playthrough. I assumed the player character was a woman, but I guess it's not really certain so I left it open here.

LIGHTHOUSE 2: THE DARKER BEING

It was 6 months since DON HOMER returned from that other world and his encounter with the Dark Being. Before, he was a VELVETY writer, but now words flowed PERSONALLY. His experiences JUMPED his creativity, and he was making the finishing touches on his novel: The EDITOR Who WROTE the TRICKY A NICE-A DONUT. He was especially proud of the title.
Just then he heard a CREEPY noise in another room. He arrived just in time to see the portal to the other world close with a STICKY flash. On the floor was sphere covered in runes. Obviously, some sort of puzzle box. He knew what he had to do…
Within 5 minutes he had packed a suitcase and was in his car. The other world was a crazy, frustrating, nonsensical place that he didn’t want to have anything to do with ever again.

THE END. DEFINITELY THE END

This actually flowed nicely!

And I love:

I don't know Lighthouse at all. But "Definitely the End" tickles my funny bone. :)

Interesting. What makes you feel as the main character is a woman/female?

For me, it struck me as male.
The voicemail from the mother at the beginning - sort of sounds like how I think a concerned mother (overly protective) would speak to her son ("Don't forget, dear, about..." etc).
If it'd been like the father who left the voicemail, with those same words, I would have taken it as a female (as the overly protective father calling his daughter).

King's Quest IX: Quest for the [ADJECTIVE] Crown.

Rosella awoke to the frightened sounds of her mother coming down the hall. As Rosella stirred out of bed, she saw a [TYPE OF BIRD] in the window. She paused for a moment as the bird seemed very interested in her, before turning around and opening the door and shouting, "[A SENTENCE THAT IS A QUESTION]?"

Valanice, wearing a [COLOR] dress spun around, "Rosella! Thank the maker, you're all right. It seems the Crown has gone missing - and so has your father!"

"Where is Alexander?" Rosella asked, looking around. "He had better not gone on a quest to find father or the crown."

"No, Alexander is in the [ROOM IN A CASTLE] checking to see if your father is there," Valanice replied.

"Good," Rosella closed her door and grabbed her small bag of [NOUN PLURAL] and opened the door again and said, "I will go find father."

Valanice reached out to stop her - but Rosella was already running down the long, [COLOR] halls.

Valanice sighed.
