I have played both; but that was centuries ago.
I think the games are fun; but they are also... intended to almost be educational too.
Which isn't bad, at all. But it's there. It's like FERNGULLY, the movie; I absolutely love the movie, but rarely rewatch it.
It's probably been well over 10 years since I've played them.
