I'm not sure if this violates forum guidelines but...
I recently acquired the floppies for EcoQuest 2. Unfortunately, my copy of Disk 3 has some bad sectors so the RESOURCE.000 file is most likely corrupt. I did the installation from the disk images and didn't get any errors. The game seems to start fine, but I'm wondering if I won't run into problems later in the game. Each floppy has a file named RESOURCE.000 and the file in the game directory after installation is over 4 Megs, so I'm guessing that the files on the floppies are concatenated into the final RESOURCE.000. I was wondering if has a copy of an image file for Disc 3 or at least the RESOURCE.000 from Disk 3. The disks are listed as Version 1.0 Int # 2.5.93.
Thanks

Re: Need help with EcoQuest 2 floppy
Both of my EcoQuest games are 5.25" disks ... which I don't have a 5.25" disk drive (I always search to see if a 5.25" USB has been made for this reason... have a few 5.25" disk games that I have no way to get back ups of).

The label on the disk says 2.5.93.
Re: Need help with EcoQuest 2 floppy
That's the date. Sierra changed printing the interpreter version on the diskette label to the production date. Start the game up and press Shift+shift+the number pad "-". The game will crash because the debugger is stripped out, but it will display the interpreter version.

I did not know this. So I did what you said and got an "Oops" error and it said the SCI version was 1.001.065.Collector wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:20 am That's the date. Here is a ZIP. I would have to dig out my disks to make an image.

Re: Need help with EcoQuest 2 floppy
Thanks for the help. I moved the files into my image with WinImage. The installation seems to have gone fine. It runs, but then it seemed to run with the corrupt file. But then everything seems to be in order, so this should work fine. Thanks again.
