Daventry D&D Map.

Is the game being a ROYAL pain? Need a hint? Got a problem? This is the place to discuss King's Quest!

Daventry D&D Map.

Post by Tawmis »

I was bored while some videos were rendering and made a Daventry map based off these maps:

https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/kings ... nalore.JPG
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/kings ... tinent.JPG

And made this:
I will probably continue to flavor it more.

Ooh! :D Nicely done. :)

Some thoughts on this:

1. Serenia is kind of empty ... Is there nothing there at all?

2. At the top of Tanalore, there are two mountain ranges with grey space between them. Volcanic ash?

3. Just northwest of the kingdom of Daventry, there's a kind of white thing that looks like a string of pearls. What's that?

4. North of the kingdom of Daventry, but east of the mountains, I think I can see a settlement. Is that the village from KQ5?

1. I was going off the existing maps (see first post links)
2. It's swamp area. May change the color.
3. I wanted to do some snowy region (from King's Quest 5) - but it's trees covered in snow. I just stopped.
4. I did it based off the initial map (see #1) - so I've not checked what it was. Was just mimicking the existing map first before I begin filling it out.

I'm sorry, but I think the links in your first post must be broken (or, if I was using internet slang, b0rked). They don't load anything for me. (I can tell it's a picture, but it doesn't load).

Ah, now they should. It had extra wiki stuff in the URL. I cleaned it up.

Thanks for fixing them ... *stares at the tiny, 200 x 185 pictures* ... eep. Wow. Now I'm even more impressed by your new map. Well done! :)

*applause-applause and applesauce* ;)

I didn't mention this a few days ago, but this is a great map.

Now you just need to add the Green Isles (still part of Planet KQ), but I'm not sure where the KQ7 lands belong... in another dimension?

Yeah - trying to find where the Green Isles are in relation to the continents.

And see if I can find a map of where Rosella ends up in KQ7.

Sorry, I don't get it. Where is Serenia? Is this from KQ6?

This land of Serenia first appeared in The Wizard and the Princess and Adventure in Serenia, and was later revisited in King's Quest V.

No wonder I'm confused.
By the Second Edition, Serenia reappeared, and the book uses the name Daventry and Serenia interchangeably for the name of the continent.
Hey, Sierra - pick a name and stick with it, please. The KQ world is hard enough to grasp for a non-KQ-fanatic like me without the continent changing names. ;)
