Kings Quest 7 Intro Movie

Hello, my name is Billy and I'm new to this site. I have the King's Quest Collection and was able to play through the first 6 King's Quest games with no problem. When I first tried to play number 7, it wouldn't load at all. Researching on the Net, I came across the latest DOSBox patch and that fixed being able to load KQ7. But now when I try to watch the Intro movie, it just boots me back to Desktop. I downloaded a trial version of WinRAR to extract the AVI files for the movie but that doesn't seem to work either. It's my first time using that particular program so maybe I'm not doing something right, I'm not sure. I'd really like to be able to watch the Intro movie (and Ending if that has the same problem) and even if I for some reason cannot play it ingame, perhaps someone has it downloaded on some other site where I can download or watch it. Any help with this would be appreciated, thank you. Oh, in case it's relevant, I'm using WinXP.

There are three files inside of the RAR, 911.RBT, 91.RBT and 912.RBT. These should be unpacked to the AVI folder inside the game's installed folder.

OK, I've pulled up those files in WinRAR and have them extracted into the KQ7 AVI subfolder. The movie still won't play when I select "Watch Movie" but I now can find it in the subfolder and watch it on my RealPlayer, which is good enough. Thank you for your assistance.
P.S. Should it have played when I select "Watch Movie"? Or is this designed to just allow me to have the movies handy outside of playing the game?

It should play within the game. You could have just watched the AVIs.

Yeah that's weird that it won't play ingame but is installed in the AVI folder. Oh well, thank you again for your time.

Great -- it's nice to know that there are more of us out there who appreciate the old classics. :)

Hah! True! Very true! You're one of the few who came here looking for help - and then we trapped you into staying! :D The ones I listed, I actually dragged (most of them kicking and screaming) from the Sierra boards, or Sierra related forums I trolled. :D

Heh heh. I think this one will have to be blamed on Collector, though. He's the only way I found out that Tawmis.com even existed. Thank yooooou! Kicking and screaming is only how I burn out bright on other forums. *laughs* I think your entertainment section is housed over quicksand, by the way. It won't let me leave.

Ah, if I were only half as great as some of you imagine - or heck - even jest...!
