First up - Panama Route, because I remember that one being the easiest and least likely to die of a random disease.
And it is the easiest route. Right up to the river crossing after the tour guide is leaving you behind.... that's a simple random chance because there's no clear way as far as I can remember/see.
Thankfully I've played this game, pretty frequently, so most of it is all burned to memory. It's one of the games I really liked, despite the death that can happen at random. I think the last time I'd played was right before I started my channel.

And then the Cape Horn route.
Now I did "cheat" - what I did is I played the Cape Horn route right up to Sacramento. From Sacramento, I spliced in my Panama game through, since from there on it's the same.

And finally the land route.
But I did what I did with the Cape Horn. I spliced in my Panama play through once I reached Sutter's Fort because it's all the same after that.

Re: Let's Play Sierra Games - Gold Rush!
I played it (again) when I got the copies from Sunlight games (since my copy of Gold Rush is on 5.25" disks and I have no 5.25" drive) which was 2014 (viewtopic.php?p=53543#p53543) - But that was before my channel. I had no Gold Rush play throughs on my channel until this batch.
NBS did a play through on here: viewtopic.php?t=5106
