I just bought and installed the new GOG KQ7 +8 collection. I'm using 32 bit Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything installed just fine. Very easy installation. Games ran just fine without any probs. The only thing I had to do with KQ8 was set the security settings to allow my user account full access. Otherwise it gave me an error when trying to launch the game.

That's at least very good to hear!

For anyone that might be following the MoE discussion, I have split off the MoE fixes discussion from the GOG thread to its own thread in the KQ forum.

I don't know how long this sale is good for, but the
Tales of Monkey Island Complete Pack (not the remakes) is available on Steam for $4.99 USD! That's 86% off the normal price of $34.99 USD.
I know some of you dislike Steam, but if you don't have ToMI yet, this might be a good time to get it.
As a side note, I'm able to play the ToMI without activating Steam even though I bought it through it. I don't know WHY, although that also works for
Batman: Arkham Asylum. Most games, however, do need Steam activated if bought and played through the service.

There's a weekend sale for
Batman: Arkham Asylum on Steam for $13.60 (that's 66% off the normal price of $39.99). The sale ends on October 25, so if you've been looking at this game, but haven't bought it due to the price, I'd definitely pick it up now.
Over at GOG, there's an
"Anuman Pack" that consists of eight games (three of which are
Still Life,
Syberia and
Syberia 2) on sale for 50% off for $35.92. This is a weekend sale as well, so get it soon if you want it.

There's a
Halloween Sale on Steam that ends on November 1st. Most of the games on the list have demos so check them out.

GOG has a sale right now on the entire
GK and Phantasmagoria series, four of which are for $4.79 and one for $7.99. I have to imagine this is for Halloween, so those prices probably won't last too long.

Since it's Black Friday tomorrow, I'd recommend checking Steam. I have a feeling they're going to have some awesome sales. As it is, they're already starting sales, some of which are fantastic if you don't already own the game.
Even if you don't have Black Friday in your country, it's still worthwhile to check Steam since it's American-based. Therefore, American holidays and events will be important.
Something else to consider is that Christmas is coming up and Steam will likely have some amazing sales. Last year, Maia and I got a ton of games (some of which we have yet to play...) for 50% to 80% off.
For those of you who consider Steam the "spawn of the DRM devil" (or other such nonsense), you should probably check out GOG. I don't know if they'll have any sales for Black Friday, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have some for Christmas.

For today's 30 Days of Telltale sale deal, they have Tales of Monkey Island Deluxe Edition (with the game on DVD (no DRM or CD check) and the box with the extra goodies for $19.95 regular $49.95. $30 chopped right off! That's over half the price!

Monstrous sales on
Steam right now for the holidays! Just about every game is on sale (to what degree depends on the game itself) and there are package deals as well. This holiday Steam sale runs from December 20 to January 2.
I'd seriously suggest looking into this. I know some of you feel Steam is the "spawn of Satan" (or some other nonsense), but the amount of money you'll save on here is immense.
Go check GOG too (why not, right?) and see if there are any sales there. From what I've seen, sales are less common on GOG, but considering Christmas is coming up, I'd be surprised if they didn't have some sort of sale at some point.

Neither GoG or Steam related, but I just noticed that the
Police Quest Collection is available for purchase at Direct2Drive.com along with King's Quest and Space Quest. Odd that it's not on GoG or Steam as well. Just thought I'd mention it. I guess I'll post this in the Police Quest section as well.

This is good. Store-wide sales on both Steam and GOG, so there's got to be something on one of the two (or both) that someone wants on here.
MI, that's interesting. Like you, I have to wonder why the PQ collection isn't on Steam or GOG. It's not as if the PQ series was unpopular.

I just bought Bioshock and Day of Defeat Source (at long last) on Steam for $4.99 each. I missed the deal earlier today when DoD was only $2.49
. Waited too long...
