Homer Simpson's patented space-age out-of-this-world waffles

(Recipe: Pour caramel, waffle batter, and liquid smoke into a waffle iron. Then wrap the cooked waffle around a stick of butter and eat.

And here is someone making them for real. Warning: extremely unhealthy ... but looks delicious as heck)

Belgium (as in Belgian Waffles)

(The Simpson version looks horrifying. His version looks pretty good).

Cheese (i.e. the classic cheese waffles - plus Belgium makes pretty good cheese)

(By the way, is toast healthier than waffles? I've gotten hooked on toast recently, but it's hard to spread anything on toast. Waffles, by comparison ... I remember making waffles-with-cheese-and-spicy-ketchup when I was younger. Delicious as heck, and a good snack in winter -- which we're in the middle of, down here in Australia.

Of course, the only downside of a waffle iron is that it's harder to clean than a toaster. But I was just wondering whether I should get a waffle toaster again. Haven't had waffles in at least 17 years or so ... darn it!)
