Well.. I´m not collecting collections ;-)
Got a few but only because I liked the cover design a lot or due to other reasons..

The thing is that the collections often have a lot of extra material not available in the original releases, such as the Sins Of The Fathers novel, Crazy Nick's Software Picks or various behind the scenes videos. They also are often the latest, most bug free version that often have the copy protection stripped out, especially the CPC disk copy protection from the AGI games.

Totally agree content-wise.
But from an collector point of view I´m mainly only interested in the single releases ;-)

Talking about releases.
Here are some pics of my Japanese PQ2 release.
Glad to find one copy after all that years :-)

Enjoy:

I take it that it is a PC98 game.

Heh. Interesting. I had seen the "Anime" PQ2 as I call it. How much did it cost you, if you don't mind answering?

The Casio instument in that image, is it a MT-32 clone?
Does it say anything about the model name/number?
There seems to be a kind of "patch list" on the top of the machine, I wonder if its a GM Midi playback ROMpler?

Would be nice to know how such an instrument sounds with various Sierra Quest games, although I don't think it can read custom .SYX information that various Quest games send to the MT-32.

If Qbix sees this, ask him to add support for Yamaha and Casio sound to DOSBox ;)

It´s a CASIO CSM-1:

Yeah.

Well. It was part of a huge lot of PC-98 games that I got the highest bid on at a Japanese auction.
That lot plus shipping plus import taxes cost me over $600 :(
But we´re talking about 40 games = $15 each 8-)
I´m only keeping 5 of them and try to sell the others.
So it will take a while until I can say how much those 5 games cost me in the end ;-)
