New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Where to Find Sierra classic games. Please note: Most of the Sierra games have areas on the forum designated for them! If you have an issue with one of the Sierra games, please post them in the correct forum!

Omg, almost forgot that it was today, guess I know what I'll be doing tonight! 8-) Got mine pre-ordered on Gog.com though, hopefully they release it soon as well.

And on topic, my latest game purchase (hope i did the attaching correctly):
QfG3.jpg
Not very rare I'm sure, but for some reason, I completely missed out on the QfG series back in the 90s, until I got the collection on Gog earlier this year, and found I really enjoyed playing them. And now I want all the big boxes of these games as well! :D It's very slim pickings though as it comes to big boxed Sierra games on my local ebay, so I was glad when this one popped up at an affordable price. :) However, I'm all so new to collecting, so not sure whether this version has everything it is supposed to have... Hope it does!

Are there any databases or something online in which you can check all the goodies that came with a particular release of a big box game? A lot of sellers claim they are selling 'complete' games, but I've seen a few online that are just not complete at all, eg. missing the Sierra catalogue, game manual or registration card etc. Then there are also differences between regions I guess which might mean a slightly different content. Would love to learn more about all the diverse goodies that were supposed to come with these boxes! :)

There is Vintage Sierra, but it is no longer maintained and is incomplete. There is a site that is being worked on, but is mostly not available, yet.

Thanks for the link Collector! That's already something to start from, too bad it is no longer maintained or updated. And good to hear there's a new site being worked on, do you have any idea when it might be available? Thanks!

Can't say much more about the new site. I am only very tangentially involved.

Ah ok, no problem. I'll keep an eye out for when it officially launches. Sounds like one I would be visiting often! :-)

Hi everyone!

Two new additions to my humble Sierra collection, and two very different games at that! :) Glad to finally find a copy of EcoQuest 1, I never played it before! 8-)

And then Homeworld Cataclysm. Never played this one either! :)

Yup, was glad to find any version of it really, over here in Belgium. :) Do you know, is there any difference in the content of the box between this release and the earlier EcoQuest cd-rom release? Any other feelies included in that one, or maybe in the disk version (other than the disks themselves of course ;) ).

Here is what is in my non-SDS copy beside the floppies. The I Helped Save the Earth paperback book, a generic Sierra game manual, Sierra catalog, an EGA exchange certificate, registration card, stickers and a couple of offers.

Thank you for posting that picture Collector! Looks like there's a lot more paper work in that release of the game. Especially the I Helped Save the Earth paperback book looks interesting. Definitely will keep a lookout for that release as well!

Hey guys,

Bit slow this thread for quite a while.

Just got this today.

Whats really a bonus is that the original shopping receipt was in the box as well. Almost exactly 21 years ago. Bought in August 1994. Can also see on the slip that the original owner also bought some cassette tapes and 1.44MB floppy discs :)
Whats funny is that the shop it was bought from, is from a town where I used to live back in '94 and chances are I probably even came across the game on the shelf myself (but obviously didn't buy it).
Earth is a really small place.

Otherwise its in "above fair" condition. Not sure if there ever was only one manual with the game. Still, nice addition to my collection, since I didn't already have it.

Now it can go into my packing boxes with my other Sierra games - because the wife needed the cupboard for other things, oh well, sometime in the future I'll get my own "Sierra glass cabinet cupboard" :)

I think it might have been the name of an importer perhaps. Not sure and never heard of it. Didn't even notice until you asked!
