I think that it is because Montreux is indeed less fascinating than Malia or Von Glower. He is the villain but, ultimately, he is only a pawn in a much more entangled historical intrigue, thus he is somehow diminished in his role. In a set where everyone has a secret agenda, he is only one amongst many -- this is the reason why, whilst Gk1 and GK2 had powerful, compelling characters, GK3 was strong in the ensemble cast more than in any singular character. At least, obviously, in my opinion.

This is a tough one; partially because it's been such a darn long time since I've played. But I'll try.

For GK1, I'd have to say Moseley, since he's such an entertaining sidekick.

For GK2, I don't know if I'd consider Von Glower a supporting character, but then, he doesn't really fit the mold of the villain either. He would have been my first choice otherwise. I'd say actually the best supporting character for the entire game would be Ludwig -- while he's not actually an "active" character like Grace or Gerde, he's a BIG part of the story.

For GK3, again, its hard NOT to pick Montreaux, but since he's the "villain," it makes it hard for me to consider him a supporting character. Supporting-character wise, I'm thinking of Madeleine, who adds all sorts of dimensions to the game.

I'll jump on the Von Glower band wagon here. That's saying a lot, since normally I avoid band-wagon-jumping. ;) He was a very compelling character. It's hard to think of him as an antagonist because he was quite charming. He certainly has a great deal of depth and I couldn't help but feel sympathy for him, given his past and his lonliness. His selfishnessly motivated actions are really the only thing that seemed remotely villainous about him. Attempting to turn others against their will is an extreme betrayal. I can't imagine how he thought they would react to having it forced upon them. Perhaps if the hunt with Von Zell hadn't happened, he would have done it differently with Gabriel. I'd like to think he genuinely felt some remorse about Ludwig, learned from his mistakes (and time), and planned to use a more compassionate approach with Gabriel.

After reading everybody's post, I couldn't make up my mind until now. I'll hop on the band wagon with Maia. ;)

Von Glower was a very influencial character. Without him, his disposition, history, and his relationship with Gabriel, the story would not have been as amazing.

Gk1 Wolfgang

Gk2 Von Glower

Gk3 ?

Wolfgang was such an interesting character in the sense of Gabriel's family tree.
Von Glower was such an unpredictable character because we dont know if he was a bad or a good guy at the start of the game and even during the hunting part.

Gk3 Havent played that one yet to have an opinion on a character.
