They didn't ask them to butt out. I'm not sure what the actual proposition they gave them was, but it wasn't "butt out". But I think the reasoning is because some of the people working on it were ex-Sierra employees and/or working for rival companies. In which case, it was a pipe dream to begin with.

I've really high expectations for this adventure!
