Definitely do and let us know what you think - we already have some more adjustments in the mix for Episode 3 based on early feedback and have plenty of room for more.

I still can't get it to run.

I'm not sure whether this utility will help in your situation or not but it may - it makes Windows forget that there were failed installation attempt from an MSI package so they can re-install from scratch.

MI didn't give any information about what he tried. An inability to reinstall the game was not suggested. But this does bring up questions that I had about the installer. Just how much is being added to the registry and or system folders? Just curious as to why POS chose an MSI package instead of a regular EXE installer? It is not like you need to add DRM drivers or anything. The installer did take forever to initialize for me, longer that what it should have needed for just unpacking files. My philosophy is to be as light on the registry and system folders as absolutely possible. This is especially the case for a game. This is just being considerate of the users.

Oh he had actually posted on our forums about the trouble he was having but I hadn't heard anything from him for a few days, so when I saw the post here I wanted to give him a quick tip that might help. I certainly don't want to hijack this into being a tech support thread but I do want him to be able to play Episode 2 and be able to give us his opinion on it.

Those are all great questions about the installer setup and I honestly don't know why that setup was selected. I'll send you a PM with the email address of our installer package guru and you could email him if you like.

The problem seems to be with my graphics driver. Which is unofficial but the only one that works properly on my system (and the only one that will run EDuke32 properly). Guess I won't be playing this game until a fix can somehow be made to the game itself.

I just went through my registry and was shocked at how many registry entries the installer made, more than 95% of which just because he used MSI. You could make an installer with NSIS that would be a lot faster and I would expect smaller that would only make as many registry entries as you wanted. There really is no reason to be making anymore entries than is required for the game itself (if any) and single key for the uninstaller. I haven't explored if it writes any systems files, but I can't imagine that it would unless needed by the engine.

I just finished with Episode 2, and I have to say that it was way better than the first episode. It felt like I was actually playing a King's Quest game this time.

Yay!

Anything you didn't like or would suggest for improvement?

Offhand, not really. I'm sure I'll have a few things after another playthrough, but I was mainly focused on experiencing the game instead of looking for problems.

Well, that's disheartening and a little creepy.

It is the reason that the MSI uninstaller cleaner was suggested. It was designed to try to clean up after an unsuccessful MSI uninstall, which is very common with an MSI installer. With the detritus left, it won't let you reinstall. MSI makes sense with a large suite like Office or a large driver/utility package where there are many different options that you may want install/uninstall different components over time, but not for a game that might only have a few components/episodes. It does not need to be integrated into the system. It's too bad. It detracts from the game itself.

That said, I haven't had a chance to play anymore 20 or so minutes, but it did feel more like a King's Quest game and I have a much more positive feel about the game than the first installment, though I still feel that the narrator is still irritating and some of the comments come across as too snarky. I would have prefered a narrator more in keeping with that of KQ6. I understand that they feel that it is probably too late to replace her. I'll withhold any more comments about the game itself until I have time to play through the rest.

I've only had a few minutes to play Ep. 2, but so far I'm impressed. The opening dialogue between Graham and Archdruid seemed a little contrived (and, BTW, I still can' stand the voice chosen for Archdruid, no offense intended to the voice actor), but from what little I've played, I'm really looking forward to playing through this episode.

One thing did stand out as a little jarring to me, though. Is my hearing going, or were about half of Graham's introductory lines from a noticeably lower-quality recording?

I have a suggestion! Get a quicker server! 2 hours and 30 minutes to download 757MB file? That's retardedly slow. Just. Ya know, sayin'...

There are around 20 different hosts which are randomly selected when downloading the game. Perhaps you ran into a slow one.
