There is no bug with deleting members. If there were this board would be a mess. Spambots get deleted all of the time. If you delete a member but leave the posts it retains the poster's name, but there is no profile associated with the post. In fact, I did not actually delete last year's masked accounts, but deactivated them. As such they can't be used and are not counted in some of the boards statistics, but the avatars are still with the posts.BBP wrote:Plus phpBB messes up when you delete members from it. Or is that bug fixed in your version Collector?
The bug that BBP is referring to, I believe, is in old PHPBB forums, when you deleted a user (who has posted) - their user name would default to "GUEST", and the user name would be lost. That was fixed with PHPBB3.x ... I recall this on my own personal forum, when I deleted folks who had posted, and wanted to leave their posts... they all became "GUEST"... Only way to tell who wrote what was if someone quoted them, then in their post it'd have their name...Collector wrote:There is no bug with deleting members. If there were this board would be a mess. It's not the fruit from Erana's Peace. Good guess though.
