Sierra Fan Games
Re: Sierra Fan Games
I certainly understand time limitations, but to tell you the truth, I am more intrigued with the idea of KQ2 being done in SCI than AGDI's AGS remake. It makes it more like it might have been if Sierra had continued with the SCI remakes of their AGI games. Of course your remake will be more work than Cloudee's Black Cauldron since you were updating the graphics as well.

Re: Sierra Fan Games
That's the idea. I absolutely love the atmosphere in Sierra's KQ1 remake. Originally, I had intended on doing KQ3, SQ2, and even SQ1 as well (in the same art-style as the AGI version). That was back when I was very naive as to how long this would take me to complete lol. I've been working on this for about 5 years or so now. Can only go so fast when you're the only one doing everything that you're not that great at artwork. It's nice to see the progress thus far, though. It'll get there eventually.

Re: Sierra Fan Games
I agree with you about the atmosphere in the KQ1 SCI remake. In spite of the wonderful job that AGDI did with their VGA remake, KQ1SCI remains my favorite of the three. I would love to see an SCI remake of KQ3, too. Put up a page for your KQ2 when you get a chance and I'll list it here.

Re: Sierra Fan Games
Collector has nodded me back towards this thread, so I guess I should make some official announcement of my own game on this forum and stop hiding in the shadows so much. Even though Activision scares the crap out of me. I plan on making a bigger announcement soon anyway, so I should test the waters.
For the last five years I've been developing an AGS game called "Incinerations." It's a game that might be inspired by Space Quest, which may or may not contain characters from the SQ series. You can view a screen-shot gallery of it here, or view the actual home page for it. The home page contains an old trailer for it (the trailer uses the word "Space Quest" and certain Vivendi references, but those are just typos.) I'm working hard to get the basic game playable by this December, and I have a couple of people helping me out with music. I'm hoping for what might be a late 2011 release, but early 2012 is more realistic.
The reason for the delay is that I'm working with a great team on another "Space Quest-inspired" game in AGS called Vohaul Strikes Back. While the actual gameplay and art style may differ from what you see on our front page (for obvious reasons,) the game itself is in the programming phases, with all the music and graphics finished. This one is intended to be released before "Incinerations" and personally, it's my favorite pick out of all the projects I'm working on, so I'm really excited for this one.
Anyway, that's what's happening on my front. ...Try not to spread it around too much. Just yet. We're trying to be sneaky.

Contradicting statements in the same post? Nah....Datadog wrote:I guess I should make some official announcement of my own game on this forum and stop hiding in the shadows so much.

Either way, looking forward to both of these..

Check this out: http://crystalshard.net/index.php?p=5
"Quest for Yrolg", a parody of the QfG games, where you play the villain. I haven't played it yet (too much else to do), but it looks fun.

Wow. Looks like somebody ripped off IA's idea at last lol.

Re: Sierra Fan Games
There are actually 2 completed remakes of The Black Cauldron.
The second one (which I believe came out first) was made by DreamMaster in AGS and can be found here.

Re: Sierra Fan Games
I forgot that my KQ2SCI remake is listed on the King's Quest Wiki. Though, it's been moved to the canceled fangames category because of not enough updates. But it has descriptions, and gameplay screenshots as well as links to the videos I put up on YouTube of test demos. Anyway, you could link to that if you wanted for the time being until I get my KQ2SCI website set up again.

They are the ones that did the KQ3 VGA remake.

Re: Sierra Fan Games
IA's idea was Quest For Infamy, where you play a villain. Hence their name "Infamous Adventures."
