My release is the European one, published by Eidos under the header "Premier Collection". My jewelcase looks like the set of the German version, but my disks are in English. And there's no DVD.

Outside of the 5th disc being miss-labeled, is your disc OK? I can add support for the typo label. It is OVERSSER5, right?

Yes it's OK, it contains all content. And it's called OVERSSER5.

Ok, ran the updated installer. The rsxconfig popped up and i got the same error when i clicked the test button:
An error occurred creating the RSX object. Make sure RSX 3D is installed. Then I ran the RSX diagnostic.
RSX_Diagnostic2.txt
(2.56 KiB) Downloaded 211 times
It got past the mmsystem.dll not found error because I downloaded a copy of that file and stuck it in the windows/system32 folder.

I started the game and it got past the initial error. Got into Tex's office, but there was no sound at all there.
Ran the diagnostic tool:
diagnostic_log.txt
(44.81 KiB) Downloaded 202 times

I think that it is all part of the RSX not properly installing on your system, Add this to your registry and see if it fixes the RSX problem.

Added the sharedll code to the registry, same problem. Tried running the rsxsetup file after the re-install and got an error msg saying I didn't have enough room on my hard drive to run it. I have almost 300 GB of free disk space.

Try this. If it still does not work, run it in Win98 mode.

That didn't work either. I had to unblock it first, then tried, tried it again in win98 compatibility, then tried it in win95 compat. each time the test button gave me the same error msg as before.

Did you try a reboot? Uninstall the RSX. Copy the RSX3D folder from disc 1 to your hard drive. Set the RSXSETUP.EXE in that folder to run in Win98 mode and run that.

Ok, that worked but I had to do a cold boot not just a restart...weird. Thanks, Mr. C.

Finally arrived in Cell Block A. Just tried it for the 2nd time and for the second time the game shuts down by itself: at a similar moment: when I'm facing the back of a cell while being in that cell and the droid vrrs by.

Noticed another thing: my CD-rom set doesn't have the C55 directory. You only need that when you're going to the post office so you can click past the errors and continue gameplay but it's still bugging.

Do you know if your copy is missing anything else?

Not for as far as I've seen. I checked all videos and game graphics with the Overviewer programme off unofficialtexmurphy, the chess set and all seem to be there. Now just to get past Alcatraz... I can't look at the back of cellblock A or else the game jams. It worked regularly on my Win 98 so it's not a disk error.
