"Ki" wouldn't be any more magic than Superman's heat or x-ray vision, since it's only a super-powered extension of Goku's body's natural kinetic energy (actually, in that respect, Superman would be more magic since vision works on light going into the eyes and not out of it.)
The debate's coming up tomorrow so I've got to meet up with the team later and see if we can organize a battle plan. Something tells me the other team is going to cream us in the fight round. Fortunately, a lot of the debate is going to center around "which one would be better suited as Earth's protector", and Superman definitely has the edge as far as being responsible and keeping a lower casualty rate goes.
(
FYI, the event page for the debate is anyone's in the downtown Vancouver area tomorrow. )

And as Earth's protector he'd have the yellow sun.

Debate's over!
Team Superman won!
It was a close debate. It felt like the crowd was very pro-Goku at the beginning, but the dirt on Goku heavily outweighed the dirt on Superman as things went on. My friend Zach pretty much summed up an entire argument with the phrase "Goku is the #1 cause of world hunger."
As far as the fight round went, I think Team Goku went above and beyond by re-enacting the actual battle on-stage with accompanying narration. The best we came up with involved ice cream trucks, Batman sleeper holds, and turning Superman gay so he could use that memory-erasing kiss from "Superman II" on Goku.
Otherwise, it was a really fun debate. Our best turn-out yet; it was almost a full house! They're going to start uploading the podcasts within the next month or so, so I'll post that when it's up.
As a note, Team Tintin beat Team Indiana Jones in the first half. You just don't mess with a fourteen year-old boy and his dog.
Next month's debates: Sub-Zero vs. Mr Freeze; Jack Skellington vs. The Grinch

Yeah, but... Indy was named after the dog (and he had a lot of fond memories of him, too).
