You have to open Regedit to check the key.

Then the rip failed. Have you used any of the other SHP installers that rip the CDA tracks? Gobliiins CD? Inca?

Gobliiins I ran under DOSBox, without installer. Haven't done Inca yet.

Try the Gobliiins installer to see if rips the CDA track.

Could you please explain how to do that?

From the search box > regedit >Enter. Be careful to not make any changes.

It doesn't show up in the registry. I can find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags, but there's no InstalledSDB folder in there and I couldn't find the {C427 etc in either one of the folders in AppCompatFlags.

That is what I thought. Something prevented the patch from being added to the registry. Perhaps your security software. You could try running the installer as admin.

I just installed it again as admin, ran it and got chucked out upon starting a mission. Checked Regedit and there's still no sign of the patch.

See if this helps. Unzip it and double click on it. Answer yes to the question. Then see if you can start a game.

Downloaded, extracted and ran it, then attempted to start a mission again with the same results.
Checked Regedit: there's now an InstalledSDB folder, but the name of the one file in it is (Default) and it says Value Not Set under data.

I think that what is going on is a 32 vs 64-bit thing. Like the file system, there are different hives in the registry for entries from 32-bit processes and 64-processes where registry write operation might get redirects. It might be in:

Code: Select all

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\InstalledSDB

Sorry, I got as far as Microsoft but there's no Windows NT directory in there.
