Mrs. White was caught by surprise when a stray bullet bounced off the soup pan on the stove. The knife she was polishing slipped from her grasp and she accidentally flung it out the door.

Miss Scarlett was so startled by the sound of the shattering flask, she spilled her big Amarone all over her plate of liver and fava beans.
