Yes, it was definitely created and released before 1990.

No, it's not a Capcom game. In fact, the company that created this game was well-known for its computer games, not console titles.

No, it does not. The company that made this game was extremely well-known for this particular genre, and it's a genre you guys know I'm quite fond of.

My first thought was "Uh-oh, there are lots of companies that begin with 'M'", but then I realised that not many of them started in the 80s or earlier.

That should make things easier.

Yes. This game also had a very specific identification form of copy protection.

OK -- I looked up all the games companies that started before the 80s, and whose name start with Mi. I narrowed it down to three.

Is the company MicroProse Software?
