I love notes like this. What's the stuff under "Rada" for?

Those are the symbols for Gabriel Knight 1 - the "Rada Drums" - that you play when ye get underground to start the ritual process.notbobsmith wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 12:36 am I love notes like this. What's the stuff under "Rada" for?
With that game, you need it.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 3:52 am Wow. That's a lot of notes - especially about Codename Iceman!
They're either from Police Quest or when I played Blue Force. I can't remember which ones those are for.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 3:52 am The other notes here (i.e. 10-1, 10-2 etc)... are these the radio codes in PQ1?
Codename: Iceman. You get random codes sent to you - and you need to decipher them using those coded letters from Codename: Iceman, then enter the deciphered code into the computer, to get the secret message.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 3:52 am Also, what's all this stuff in pencil on the second page (i.e. H-8-G 5-8-3 etc.)? *curious*
I started giving them to the beggar. Then I gave the beggar a Dinar - and noticed he had a different response - and my honor went up.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 6:18 pm Hmm, there's 100 centimes in a dinar IIRC. So that's 5 dinars and 50 centimes?
Maybe just buy lots of stuff that only cost centimes (like lots of snacks from Sloree and Scoree). I think their Lizard-on-a-stick, or falafel-in-a-pita, only costs 95 centimes.
I'm not sure about the money changer, sorry. I never made that many centimes.
Yeah, I've wondered that too. It normally wouldn't be much of a problem except that each coin has its own weight. So carrying 500 centines is 100 times heavier than 5 dinar. But as far as I know, there is no way to convert. It would be nice if the game drew from the centines first when you paid for something. But then I can imagine the annoyance of the shopkeeper as the hero starts counting pennies.Tawmis wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 4:05 am Got a lot of money fighting... (side note - don't go into the desert - just exit the city and follow the wall - less likely to get lost)...
Bought the new sword...
Seems to help...
But is there a way to change Centine to Dinar (the smaller coin to the larger?) I am carrying like 550 centine and like 60 dinar. Would love to convert the centine.
Went to the money changer but can't seem to figure it out if it is possible?
That's currently my problem is my weight that I am carrying - and I am literally carrying just essentials. But I have like 640 centimes - and like 192 dinars. If I could convert those centimes to 64 dinars, that'd be excellent. Because from what I have seen, giving the beggar a metric ton of centimes doesn't really do much for honor compared to a few dinars. So if I could convert the centimes to dinars, I'd be more than happy to give it to the beggar than repeatedly "give coin to beggar" (enter), F3, (enter), F3, (enter), rinse and repeat; just to get rid of them.notbobsmith wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 10:55 pmYeah, I've wondered that too. Wouldn't it be fun if the hero started counting centimes? Just for a goof, you know. But then shopkeepers would have to shut him down, hard, to keep the game going. I can just imagine Keapon Laffin doing it.notbobsmith wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 10:55 pmYeah, I've wondered that too. You could root around the source code to see.
Just wondering: if the beggar has 150 dinars, doesn't he stop being a beggar? That's more than you had when you started the game. (All right, I'm thinking real-world).Tawmis wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 4:26 am What I ended up doing was testing a theory that NBS mentioned - that if you got something and ye didn't have enough Dinar to cover it - if it would dip into the Centime count. And it does.
So the beggar got like 150 dinar total (and I was down to 0 dinar and 2 centime... but money is so easy to get now...)
It was also great for my honor score.
Just did the EOF thing. There's talk of leaving to Rasier soon, which is near the end, from what I remember (no spoiler tags or anything please).Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 5:33 pm Seriously, though, how far have you gotten? How high is your honour score? *curious*
