If you enjoy RPGs and/or Quest for Glory's "punny" sense of humour -- really, do I even have to say that? -- then you'll enjoy Hero-U.
If you enjoy 3rd-person tactical fight scenes, and rogue/sneak tactics (as seen in many RPGs, and which Hero-U features) ... then you'll enjoy Hero-U.
It also features:
1. A "friendship/rivalry" meter (as in RPGs since at least ME).
2. Several fun ways to help you earn money and hone your rogue skills (depending on which ones you wish - sneaking/fighting, laying traps, gambling etc).
3. Three "electives" you can take (to give your hero tactical advantages during fights, which are tough to start with. You can choose either magic (protection/extra damage during fights), science (deal extra damage), or apothecary/healing (self-explanatory).
4. Several quests to help your hero make friends/create rivals.
5. Several "mini-quests" to make friends and hone skills.
6. Etc.
Combat-wise, as the game goes on, you face tougher opponents - ultimately, ones that you will need magic protection from, and that you need magic to harm. But by then, if you've made enough money or honed your combat skills, you can either buy your protection or loot it off an enemy.
It really isn't as long as that list sounds.

The game lasts for 50 "game days", but I found that, in a two-hour session, I could run through between 7-10 "game days". (My first few run-throughs took longer, of course).
So, if you like, you can finish the game in 10-15 hours (obviously not all at once).

It's a fun game! I recommend it.
