I was sad to see the Quest for more Glory forums are down for the moment. I should get active again here and there.
Would be nice to see you hang out here more.

Nice. I already own the "Sierra Classic" stuff, myself. But for anyone who doesn't - this is a really good deal.

There's a
Classic Sierra Bundle on Steam. It's a "complete the set" type bundle, so you don't have to pay for games in it you already own on Steam.
The holiday sale will be soon, so I'm not buying it yet. This is just an early heads-up.

Very cool. I got them all on GOG.com (my preference over the two) already! But always nice to see these going on sale and giving folks to check these games out.

Also remember that the KQ, SQ, PQ and LSL Steam releases are the same as the highly flawed 2006 VU collections, but are a way to get the SCI remakes of the first games. The GOG releases just have the original AGI versions of the first games. I would note that it has been reported that my 2006 VU patches do work for the Steam releases. I did do a patch for the GOG KQ release, but none of the others. Someone told me that the Steam QfG release is not as good as my GOG release. I have no more information about any other Steam Sierra releases.

The GOG ones have the AGI and SCI of the first games, except for Space Quest. That's the only one missing the AGI. It only has the SCI if I remember correctly.

A quick check. LSL: both AGI and SCI. KQ: AGI only. SQ: AGI only. PQ: SCI only. The QfG collection I made sure that both QfG1 EGA and VGA were included.

Should have known better than doubt. Weird. I swear, I was making a stink that only the SQ was missing AGI or SCI...
Ah, here it is:

No idea why I am not swearing about the other versions missing (I mean I have them from CD collections and such, so they're installed, but it'd be nice to have ONE spot where I can easily access them where ever or whatever machine I'm on...)

You could store copies on the server of one of your sites.

I could! Not a bad idea, actually. Zip the files and then just password protect the zip files, so if someone does stumble across it, they'll at least have to know or hack the zip file/password.

If you put DOSBox in the same locations on all machines and use the SHP installers the games should be portable as is. Just unzip on the destination machine and run it.

The Sierra collections on Steam are now the most complete it seems as they include both original and remake versions of each 1st chapter in each series.

I seriously do not want to purchase these again... Besides having the original media, then all the collections they've done, then on GoG.com... sheesh, to buy'em again on Steam for the "complete" parts... is... annoying. Just wish GoG would get with it. Especially since Steam has done it. I doubt there's any form of copyright (with another company kind of thing) is Steam was able to do it.
