Was having a problem with my game freezing up after I got the axe in Daventry. Tawmis suggested that I play that particular scene in first person and then switch back to third afterwards. So, I tried to reinstall it and try that advice and everthing goes very smoothly up until it is 99% installed.then it says this:
One or more files have failed to verify
install has been canceled.
Try to install again later.

Any advice is very appreciated as this is my favorite pc game and I am anxious to play it again. :)

You didn't need to uninstall the game. Just hit "F2" to switch to first person view. To reinstall the game, delete the "MASK" folder in the Sierra folder and then install the game. For more help see the three entries on The Sierra Help Pages:

I uninstalled it a while back when i got really frustrated with it. I did not realize it was a problem that others were experiencing as well. I just thought the game was old. But I am gonna try your suggestion here and let you know how it goes. thaks so much. :)

Have fun with MoE, then for a real treat, go get the new KQ collection. It can be had easily for $15-20 and play the best adventure game ever designed.

Thanks again. I already got the KQ collection. I love KQ7. It is my second favorite in the series. Thanks again.

Is MoE any good? I've played 1-7 but I never could manage to get a copy of it, and now it seems like the only way would be off of Amazon or eBay. From what I've heard it seems like it's a major departure from the rest of the series but what do I know. 8-) Just curious.

Is MoE any good?

Now that is an ongoing debate. I think that debate ranks up there with Global Warming! :)

I personally think MoE is JUST FINE. Most hardcore adventure fans absolutely hate it. They wanted a more of an adventure title. :)

Adventure gamers = hate it.
Casual gamers = It's pretty good.

MOE is awesome. I highly recommend that you play it. It is very different in the fact that it is not in cartoon form. It has 7 huge worlds and lots of puzzles and fighting. It is my favorite in the series. I know where you can but it online for a very reasonable price. Give me just a little bit and i will supply you with a link. Back in a few. Smile

In my opinion, it's a good game. It has a different atmosphere to that of the other KQ games, and (again in my opinion) it's best played as if it's got nothing to do with the KQ series. Just play it as an rpg/adventure mix, don't expect it to have the same atmosphere, and I think you'll enjoy it. It's got some GORGEOUS graphics, some very interesting side-quests and quite a dark "feel" to much of it.

Just enjoy it for what it is. It doesn't have the cute humour of the authentically KQ-ish KQ games; it has a very different engine; it's got quite a lot of combat, yet it also has an intriguing story.

Well my question was pretty much answered. :D If I get a chance I think I'll look into it. I'm working on getting my hands on a copy of QfG V first though. Thanks!

Man. The only QGV I can find is the German version. Maybe I should learn German! Hmmm..... ;)

How bizarre...! Playing a computer game designed to be spoken in American English, set in a transmogrified Ancient Greece, in a German translation.

What we do for the love of adventure games is a story in itself.

Hello there. Ive been registered for ages, but only recently got back to playing through some Sierra games. Anyways, I decided I better post a greeting before I started asking all sorts of questions.
Nice to see you're still doing The Lord's work with all these custom installers, Collector. LOL
The Phantasmagoria one saved my life. Swapping out 7 CDs while I play....
What do they think I am? NOT lazy?
