By not really feeling like solving trial-and-error puzzles and resorting to walkthroughs, rather than staying stuck. Primarily with the first magic potion, that went wrong a few times, so I looked it up and found you have to enter the ingredients in order.

That's still pretty fast! I resort to walk thrus for Blue Force's codes that you need to call in (I have the manual but it's with my Sierra games - and once I found a Walk Thru with the codes, I figured I'd spare myself digging through my Sierra game storage to find it!)
