Whilst building up my stats, I managed to give the artichoke/anchovies pizza to the scientist in the science building. I have a code I have no idea how to use and I can get Gort out of the way of a panel, 'cause the mentioned scientist keeps saying me not to touch the equipment (Gort is
the equipment?
)
An equally quick question:
Since I already now what the first rite will be, having started the rite immediately during my first, aborted playthrough, am I able to do this task
before starting the Rites?
Hmmm... if you mean the code you get from that glowing green panel on the wall, then don't worry about it. You'll have cause to use it much, much later.
You can't get Gort to move at all. Don't worry about it.
Yes, you can do just about everything with Science Island before starting the Rites of Rulership. However, you will have to return here at least twice. Be sure to come by more often and listen to what the doctors have to say about your quests - it's often quite funny.

Doctors? Plural? Is there another doctor I haven't found?
Another quick question: can I go to the five fisherman's village and retrieve their sigils before the Rite begins?

You can visit the villages before the Rites begin, but you will find them deserted, if I recall correctly... There will be no mercenaries and no sigils. But try it, just in case I'm wrong. I do seem to remember visiting a couple of the villages before the Rites started, and noting that it was "rien à faire" at that point.

Hmm... trying not to spoil it for you re: doctors. Visit Science Island at different times... you might find a different doctor there!
Also, Almirena is right - you can go to the five fisherman's villages before the Rite begins, but there will be no one there. No mercenaries, no sigils - nada.

But the scenery is beautiful and waves washing against the shore are relaxing. I'm considering getting a winter home in one of them.

This reminds me... At practically every outpost in
Guild Wars, Maia ran around exploring everything and then commented on how we "should have a home here."

At the scenic, natural ones, at least.
Yes, those too.

I completed the Rite of Conquest, I managed to save Rakeesh from the poison and now I'm presented with two task: (A) Find the Hydra and defeat it and (B) Find the assassin.
Is there any particular order I should do these tasks? Do I have to be quick or can I take my time with these two deeds?
I also have to figure out how to arrive at the Hydra Island since Andre can't sail me there...

Hmm... this is the last you'll see of the assassin for a good little while, I'm afraid, so there's not much you can do about him.
As for the hydra... start by asking the FA about this rite - he's always a source of good information about what to do next - and think about Greek mythology. What did mythological figures do when they were trapped and couldn't get a boat? Then poke around Science Island and see what you can find. Good luck!

I read the book about Greek mythology and Icarus. I've just made my personal wings and I've just landed... ehm, "softly", on the Hydra Island. I bought a magical weapon, since FA told me that Hydra can be damaged only by this mean, being immune to almost all magical spells.
On the other hand, I'm glad that I had the Poison Pills with me. I couldn't imagine Rakeesh dying, and I'm extremely happy he will live: I just hope to get the chance to speak again with him, before the end of the game, since he's one of my favorite characters!

Yesterday I danced with the Dryads...
... The sequence was extremely powerful: a touching, vibrating piece of music; eerie, gloomy atmosphere that slowly turns in a Dionysian, mind-bending one...
For this sequence alone, QfG V quickly becomes one of my favorite games, and not only amongst the series...

I love that scene as well.
The only thing that worried me about that section with the Dryads is that I was waiting for something to happen. I thought that the Dryads would give me a task or offer some information or provide an opportunity to solve a puzzle... and I wondered why all that happened was a dance sequence. I cannot tell you how many times I watered the dryad... and STILL there was only a dance experience!

So it wasn't just me. I did that the other night, and I kept wondering if I'd forgotten something when I walked out with nothing other than a few honor points. At least they let me sleep there.

Well they gave me the magic wood needed for the Staff, so I was quite happy about it

Ah, it's a magic user thing. That explains it.
