Right. It's just when I saw that scene, my first thought was, "It kind of looks like that scene from King's Quest 5!"Collector wrote:Of course KQ5 predates KyrandiaTawmis wrote:I am not the only one who thinks these two scenes are pretty similar (yet different... but still similar...)
Just barely starting - picking up a lot of stuff. I need to go through the manual and see if there's something about potion making. Because I am collecting a lot of random components - that I am sure will go towards making a potion. (I found her spell book, but all the pages were tore out... and found her cauldron {by accidentally clicking the tree when I went to actually move in a direction! })...Collector wrote:II is my favorite of the three.Tawmis wrote:And so begins Book II...
Yeah, I believe they were ScummVM (done through GoG).Semi-Happy Partygoer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 10:57 am I take it these are for ScummVM and not the original DOS interpreter.
Yes, the ScummVM save files (I think for most, if not all games) are not compatible with the original executable.Tawmis wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 11:03 amYeah, I believe they were ScummVM (done through GoG).Semi-Happy Partygoer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 10:57 am I take it these are for ScummVM and not the original DOS interpreter.
In regards to save games, does ScummVM do something that would make it so these wouldn't work, say if you tried it through DOSBox?
Well, that's good to know. So I won't be using SCUMMVM in the future.Semi-Happy Partygoer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 1:05 pmYes, the ScummVM save files (I think for most, if not all games) are not compatible with the original executable.Tawmis wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 11:03 amYeah, I believe they were ScummVM (done through GoG).Semi-Happy Partygoer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 10:57 am I take it these are for ScummVM and not the original DOS interpreter.

I've actually created complete sets of DOS save files for the CD and floppy disk releases. I'd be happy to send them to you if you'd like both DOS and ScummVM save files.Tawmis wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 2:31 pm Well, that's good to know. So I won't be using SCUMMVM in the future.
I put LOK2 on hold, since I made a Let's Play Sierra Games Channel - I will eventually (once I am done with my collection of Sierra games) probably be adding "Sierra Like" games (like Legend of Kyrandia, Les Manley, etc) - and I will be sure to use DOSBox.
Sure! Zip'em up and attach them to this thread.Semi-Happy Partygoer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 4:47 amI've actually created complete sets of DOS save files for the CD and floppy disk releases.
