Found some similar butterfly wings - added those. Removed Lol's arm behind her. Going to see if I can find some stone to just redo that whole part.

Could ask on the Sierra groups that have some of the devs and artists like the Sierra Alum group who did the concept image and if there is a higher res version.

I am not even sure where to begin with that. Was hoping Ken could point me in the direction when I asked - but when he was like, "I'd never seen that" - I was like, "Well... damn."

Messed with the clouds and castle I put into it. :D

(At this point this is something to cure my boredom while I wait for videos to upload and/or render...)

Some talented artist on DeviantArt should recreate this. I'd even pay for it if it were close enough.

We need to create a gofundme to make it happen! "Hey! You! You are talented! Draw this!" :D

This is relevant: The NEW Perils of Rosella - an online choose your own adventure game! :D

As for DeviantArt ... here's a suggestion for an artist:

Rosella and the snake
Oh no! The snake gotcha!
Oh no! The snake gotcha again! ;)
When will you learn, Rosella?
NO! Rosella sinks in the swamp! ;)

Funny. A long time ago I thought about doing a "Choose Your Own Adventure" website - dedicated to those books (those, and the D&D versions of "Endless Quests").

Too many ideas I never get around to. The downside of the mind that is a maelstrom.

Anyway - toyed around while waiting for my uploads - this is not good by any stretch of the imagination, just doing it out of boredom.

Tinkered with the dresses and gave our good fairy a new hand too.

Added an amulet, a necklace, and a lens flare!

You can also see the box art in the fall 1988 catalogue that you can download here
https://www.sierragamers.com/Games-Catalogs/
It also shows the LSL2 box art before they put in the game title and other text. Also shows some SQ3 screenshots before the final release where they changed a lot of the red colors to blue.
They also changed the PQ2 box art. The word TWO was spelled out, where they later changed it to the actual number 2

It also has that alternate Gold Rush cover with different lettering and a different era-appropriate image of the designers on the front underneath the title. I remember seeing all of these as a kid :D. Wasn't there also a difference between PQ3 boxes where the "3" was handcuffs in one design but a red number "3" in another?

Ironically, that LSL2 cover and that alternate KQ4 cover, are my favorite Sierra covers - by far.

BTW, Tawmis... I took a stab at the unused KQ4 box art.

Rath Darkblade wrote: Sat Feb 12, 2022 1:01 am I don't know, I thought TV shows and movies were a wonderful guide to how scientific gadgets DON'T work. ;) Am I wrong?
Some TV shows and movies showed scientific gadgets that didn't work well or routinely failed, but most of these were for comedic effect. When gadgets failed in a serious TV show or movie, it was usually because the story demanded it, not because there was anything inherently wrong (using the show or film's internal logic) with the gadget itself.

Most stories only succeed if technology fails at the right (or wrong, depending on your point of view) time and people behave like morons.

Technically-speaking, the first automatic doors (of any kind) were invented in the first century CE in Roman Egypt by Heron of Alexandria.

The first modern automatic doors were invented in 1931, and installed in a Connecticut restaurant at the time. Sliding automatic doors were invented over two decades later in 1954 and were placed on the market by 1960.

All of the above means that automatic doors (sliding or otherwise) were invented before the original Star Trek ever appeared on television.

That's a nice, larger version - using the original! How'd you go about it?

(Who knew this would swing back on topic?) :D
