So is the reason you have not played LSL because of the type of humor presented within the game?

Well, personally I find the whole premise of the series immoral. So it wouldn't make me laugh anyway.

Ah, no worries! I was just curious!
Me, being quite the immoral person, found that I was
much closer to Larry than I ever dared realize!

Did any one ever check out the LSL4 page on SHP? It is a remnant from when the site was hosted on tawmis.com.

Collector, you kill me!
You still have it linking to tawmis.com at the end!

Not Quite. Read it a little closer.

I mean the link at the bottom for:
"Go back to Tawmis.com and try again!"
What you should do is use the picture that they edited for LSL - for "My Moment of Fame" or whatever thread.

Hmmm. LSL5, 6 and 7 are - well, yes, a little episodic and not very character-building, but still fun.
My favourite? I haven't played LSL in ages, but I think LSL2 is my favourite. Poor Larry... everyone picking on him because he's bald. Aww.
Also, the communist sub-plot is ridiculously funny. (Love the James Bond moments!)
LSL3 is my second favourite... again, because of the split between Larry/Patty and everything wraps up really nicely in the end. Still, a couple of things I didn't really like - the bamboo maze (argh!!) and the water-ride on the log (double argh!!)
It took me FOREVER to get through that water-ride thing. Why in the name of sanity it was put in, I have no idea. /rant

Immoral? Really? Why?
I'm just curious. I find Larry's quest very human and very tender (at least, under the sexy layers, which always add a good spice to the dish! Yum
).

I don't think LSL is "immoral" but it's hardly "tender," either.

At the very end, he's just a lonely man in search of a love - at least in the original trilogy.

I find it immoral because I don't believe in sex before marriage.
You asked.

Your choice. I won't say it's right or wrong (since it's neither), but I would urge you to view the LSL series as nothing more than a fictional computer game. Many of the actions we take in games would not only violate social norms, but break the law. These games are merely meant as entertainment.
I'd imagine the LSL games show good cause to avoid being sexually promiscuous. Most of the situations Larry gets himself into -- some of which are potentially life-threatening -- are due to his quest for sex. Even the first game promoted sexual safety by forcing Larry to use a condom (he didn't have to, but then he'd end up dying as a result of his recklessness).

As DeadPoolX said, your choice - neither right or wrong.
I restate that Leisure Suit Larry, at least the original trilogy, and at least in my opinion, is less about sex than it is about love and loneliness.

I don't argue the point of the game or the stories. It's the content. You can't say the Larry games are family friendly no matter how hard you try to justify everything in the game. "Just entertainment" or not I have a problem with simulating something that I find very immoral. And again, I don't find sexual innuendo or sex jokes at all funny...so I'd miss the whole point of the game anyway.
But I don't want to derail the thread so let's not talk about it anymore.
