Yes
Phew. This is gonna be rough. That house is huge.

Are you somewhere on the MAIN floor (so not the attic or upstairs).

All right - so this will help, Rath.

That means it should be in one of these rooms:

Are you found in one of the rooms that has two words to it (Dining Room, Reception Hall, Makeup Room, Ritual Chamber)?

Um, OK. Now I get it. So Malcolm is ... Carno's apprentice (and now an old man). Got it.

As for the house itself ... good grief. :( The Estate Island itself is huge, like Tawm said. Let's see.

Since you're in the house -- are you in the second floor or above? :)

No. Tawmis already established that I am on the first floor. See the map above.

All right - now for an odd question.

From the entry (in the south) do you need to pass through less than 2 doors to get to you?

(This should limit this question down to Reception Hall, less than 2 doors; and dining room; less than 2 doors).

The make up room and ritual chamber both require passing through 2 or more doors (if I am doing my math right). :D

Whoops! I didn't see this page before posting my question. But ...

Slightly odd question: Does this room have anything to do with food?

(So if the answer to both is yes, we know it must be the Dining Room) ;)

Yes, there are fewer than 2 doors to get to the room.

Does the Reception Hall really have nothing to do with food? Anyway, since you singled out the Dining Room, I will say: no.

So just to make sure it's not tricky - since the Dining Room is ruled out.

Are you in the Reception Room somewhere (which is still a very big room)?

OK - now we can narrow it down some more!

Do you have anything to do with the fortune telling machine?

(I ask this because I giggled at the idea that the other one you did was the fortune teller's card for QFGIV for the Dark One) :D

How should I know? I never played Phantasmagoria. :(

(I don't like the horror genre, which is why I stayed away from Phantasmagoria and Shivers. But of course I played Gabriel Knight, because it's not _primarily_ a horror game ... not like Silent Hill or The Last of Us or Resident Evil). ;)

Anyway. Since no-one asked this, are you an inventory item? :)

Um, NBS ... Tawmis wasn't asking if you were in the Reception Room. He was asking:

And my question is:

Are you the bottle of absinthe? :D

Oops. Responded to an earlier question a second time by mistake. But it's moot because...

Yes I am! I was not expecting this one to be solved so quickly. The Reception Hall is huge with a lot of things in it.

2 for 2, Rath.
