I am neither in QFG 3 or higher, and thus not in QFG 5.

Then you must be in QfG1. :D

Are you the Dag-Nab-It game? (i.e. the one with throwing daggers at the board?) ;)

"Three in one" - you throw three daggers.
"Know me by another name" - I think you play this in QfG5 too, but it's called something else there.

I'm not sure what "more cars, or whatever" means. There are no cars in QfG, obviously.

Not sure about the cars thing either.

Are you found in the town?

I am neither the dagger game or found in the town.

So you've both figured out there's no cars in this game... So I wonder if the word is maybe pronounced "more cars" ;)

And maybe that might help... or maybe confuse you more.

But I promise, it will make sense.

Are you found around the Brigand Fortress (either inside or the gate outside)?

I am not.

Let me give another clue...

You'd never get bored in this game;
I am three in one!
But you will know me by another name
No need for more cars, or whatever, for this to be done!

Once again, I am being tricky
And maybe you can find help if you look in a ...........?

Are you the pterosaur outside the healer's hut?

Three in one - It's a bird-lizard thing (okay that's only two)
"look in a [tree]" - Maybe?

Still can't figure out the car thing.

 I knew the car thing would throw things off. I figured this would initially steer (see what I did there?) towards Police Quest.

I am not the bird-thing.

Nor is the rhyme "tree."

Another clue...

You'd never get bored in this game;
I am three in one!
But you will know me by another name
No need for more cars, or whatever, for this to be done!

Once again, I am being tricky
And maybe you can find help if you look in a redacted!?
For you to find the answer to the rhyme, you must learn
To think more modern.

Note - these clues aren't about the ingame thing - but rather, where to find a the answer to the rhyme (which I think will help)...

And now, since you made a guess, an ingame clue...

These rhymes are like a song, let's sing in chorus
Hold on, do I hear the sounds of an approaching Saurus?

There are too many rhymes for the word tricky, none of them helpful. Wiki, Ricky, Picky, Sicky, Hickey, Mickey, Nicky, D ....... I've said enough. :P

Are you in Erasmus's tower?

Are you in Erasmus's tower?
What if I told you one of the things you said is right and the other is wrong? ;)

Also... when does a Saurus appear in the tower?

I did give a clue about the Saurus.

Sauruses (Saurii?) are found in the forest as a random enemy encounter.

Are you the fox?

You'd never get bored in this game;
I am three in one!
But you will know me by another name

All related to QFG. "Know me by another name" refers to the Hero's Quest name change.

No need for more cars, or whatever, for this to be done!

There's a Volkswagen called the Fox.

Once again, I am being tricky
And maybe you can find help if you look in a redacted!?

Foxes are tricky. The missing word is "quickie" as in "The quick brown fox..."

These rhymes are like a song, let's sing in chorus
Hold on, do I hear the sounds of an approaching Saurus?

Huh, had not about a tricky fox...
I am not a fox. (Just ask anyone who has seen me in person! HEY-O!)

If only we could ask Scott Murphy & Mark Crowe
Because, I am pretty sure they would know
Because they used the energizer bunny
But someone didn't find it funny....

Interesting. I'd never heard of the Volkswagen Fox. Then again, I am not a car person; the last Volkswagen I remember was the Beetle. ;)

This clue means less to me than the last
And so I wish that I could cast
A spell to make this thing more clear -
Then we could go and have a beer! ;)

Are you in a screen in the forest?

I am not in the forest.

But because I feel like I've had this too long....

My name had to be given the boot
Because of an apparently almost law suit
Hopefully that tells you this story
When I am but am not Quest for Glory?
