Are you in King's Quest VI?
No

I suspect NBS must be in KQ6. KQ8 is not very popular. I can't think why.
Are you alive?
No

Well, damn, are you in KQ8?
(Ironic, was just trying to get it to run on my Windows 11 machine, because I saw someone on FB saying it doesn't run on Win11, and so far, they're right...)

I got it as part of a KQ pack on GOG, and it starts.
That's the good news.
The bad news? When I try to start a new game, the graphics stutter, and the game grinds to a halt, because I can't see anything.
So, I'm sorry, but I don't think I can help if NBS is in KQ8.

You kill me.
Having not played the game doesn't mean ye can't still guess.
There's sites, oh, like SierraChest, that have screenshots, walkthroughs, etc.

No, not KQ8. Go back and reread which games you eliminated. You may have forgotten one.
I don't have Windows 11, but have you tried
this? It says that it's been tested up to Windows 10. The page was updated in 2020 which was before Windows 11 was released, but it might be worth a try. Otherwise you could try contacting the author and see if he is still active.

One minute, I'll load up the text file where I saved the clues.
- In the King's Quest series
- Graham is not the main character
- The MC is male
- Not in KQ6
So, you must be in KQ3!
But you're not alive, not an inventory item, and not the same character as the main character. Hmm.
Are you dead?

Yes, I got it working last night finally.
However, the intro immediately crashes. So I can only go into a new game.

Are you seen on the main land where you begin in KQ3? (i.e., before setting sail on the pirate ship)

Not alive ... or dead. Are you undead? (j/k)
Sheesh. *thinks* I don't know KQ3 as well as I should. I only played it to the end once, and that was a long, long time ago (on a computer far away).
*light-bulb idea!*
Are you a bit of random scenery?

Are there living creatures (visible) on the screen you're on (such as an eagle, spider, squirrel) at any time?

I have a hunch I know what this is, but I might wait for NBS's answer.

Well, drat it. *snaps fingers* There goes my guess. I thought NBS might be the spider-web from KQ3. Ah, drat.
So, back to basics. Are you found anywhere in house belonging to Mahna-Mahna -- uh, Mwah-ha-ha-ha -- uh, Manana-Man -- uh, however that wizard spells his name?
(I'm so sorry. Really am. So sorry)
