I've actually been watching My Own Worst Enemy lately, since it's on after Heroes, and it's not bad. Not the best, but entertaining.

I still think Ugly Betty is absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, Ugly Betty is pretty funny. I dislike My Own Worst Enemy and not the acting or premise, but because I can't stand Christian Slater.

I watched it through the first and second season, but in the end it lost my attention. Whilst it's surely funny, second season's storyline was clumsy (in my opinion) and the new characters added uninteresting (mainly Rico, the great F. Rodriguez of Six Feet Under fame - now that was a show! )

I'm not even into cars but I'm absolutely loving that there are new episodes of Top Gear on. I laughed like a hyena at the segment in the latest episodes where they drive some of the cars produced by the USSR & Eastern Germany.

Christ, that was terrible. An episode with a storyline that could have come straight out of nazi propaganda is never a good idea.

If I can finish the damn book I'm studying for my next exam (which will be next Monday), this evening I'm planning to see:

Supernatural 1x01
Demons 1x01
True Blood 1x03

I've pretty much had it with Heroes. The first season was really good, but it's gone downhill from there. The second season wasn't bad and the third season was just awful. The fourth season began last night and it appears to be on equal footing with the third season, as well.

My three major complaints about Heroes are:
1. Nearly everyone is a complete moron. If they're not an idiot, then their messages will be undeniably cryptic. Quite possibly the only person in Heroes who doesn't fall into either category would be Noah Bennett (Claire's dad).

2. The sheer number of cliches have gone beyond mildly amusing to downright annoying. This occurred all through the third season and the fourth season looks like it'll continue the trend.

3. Is it just me or is there an obscene amount of melodrama? Maybe a little here and there would be okay, but each episode now has an abundance of such. Couple this with cliched statements and you have a recipe for disaster (unless you're aiming for a soap opera).

I loved the first series. Totally hated the second. And never bothered with the third. Sad, thought, to hear that what seemed a promising series have completely wasted itself.

I stopped watching as soon as a specific character in HEROES met their demise (I won't say who since it's not all the way caught up all across the world)...

But there is a notice that they're "rebooting" HEROES with Season 4 because they realize they fubared some things... not sure how true it is about the reboot or what it entails... but that's the rumor.

I've tried watching Supernatural. I didn't think it was bad, but I didn't really care for it. I know Maia likes it.

One show Maia and I watch is called Fringe. It deals with ideas on the "fringe of society." In other words, the show covers aliens, genetic experiments, the supernatural, super powers, etc. There's only been a few episodes so far, but it seems good.

I particularly like the "mad doctor" character. He's a real lunatic and his delivery is hilarious.

As soon as Lost would be over, I'll be open to another J.J. Abrams and they'll watch the Fringe. For now, I've enough enigmas with Lost

I refuse to go near anything Abrams does after the second season of LOST... He's a hack.

And as for SUPERNATURAL... AndreaDraco - glad to hear you love it. Currently it's tied with BONES as my favorite show on TV (non pay). Otherwise DEXTER would be in the mix too.

I'm getting really pissed off with commercials. I've never liked commercials, but unfortunately, shows like Heroes and Fringe are on regular TV channels. If it were on HBO (which seems to televise mostly shows and the occasional movie) then it wouldn't be an issue.

It's gotten to the point where there's virtually an even split between a show's airtime and how long commercials are shown. Last night, for instance, when Maia and I watched the fourth season premiere of Heroes (which is supposedly an hour long, but we know it isn't), the total minutes of airtime must've been somewhere around 35 minutes. The other 25 minutes were nothing but commercial after commercial.

Even worse is when there are ads shown DURING the show itself! These (sometimes animated) advertisements will often appear at the bottom of the screen and can severely detract from the viewing experience.

I'll bet that in the near future, we'll have channels that mostly present commercials -- with a small snippet of a TV show here and there.

Have you seen the Pepsi/Macgruber ad?

Back in the day, there were no commercials and the product was integrated in the show. Bob Hope would step aside to Camera #2, talk about White Brite Toothpaste, and continue the program.
