You use the blade to fight the undead just outside Spiegel.

Spiegel? *confused* I think you mean Spielburg?
Leisure Suit Larry uses the letter opener to open Eve's mail (thus committing mail fraud!
) but he finds a gold MasterCard that he can use for all his purchases. (And there was much rejoicing. Yay).
A month later, Eve gets the statement, calls MasterCard and reports the credit card fraud. (And there was much rej- er, wailing and gnashing of teeth. Poo).
A Book about Not Terribly Good People, Leisure Suit Larry.
(This is actually real -
The Not Terribly Good Club of Great Britain, all about people who are -- well -- not good at something. Like the World's Most Unsuccessful Tourist, who got off a plane in Los Angeles and spent three days there, thinking he was in Rome. Or the World's Worst Tennis Player, who lost 55 matches in a row without winning a single set, and then spoiling everything by winning a set.
The book is highly recommended).

A Book about Not Terribly Good People, Leisure Suit Larry.
Larry is dismayed to find that he has an entire chapter dedicated to him. He tries to sue the publisher, but loses since the accounts are factual. The publicity from the trial gains the attention of Hollywood producers who try to turn this pathetic loser into a reality TV star like the Kardashians, The show is cancelled after one episode.
Cocaine toothache drops (yes, these were a thing) - Freddy Pharkas

Hold on, now -- I think Larry is nowhere near bad enough as the Kardashians.
Sure, he womanises and steals candy and all the rest of it, but compared to the Kardashians, he is a paragon of virtue.
Besides, he's nowhere near as annoying as they are.
Yes, I've heard of cocaine toothache drops. Freddy sells them to people, and nothing bad happens to him, because it's the 1870s.
Boiled egg squarer (yep, it exists, and it makes your boiled egg into a square. Don't ask me why, 'cos I don't know) -- King's Quest 1

King Graham uses the boiled egg squarer on some eggs to make square boiled eggs. These are used to power a magical teleportation device. (Hey, if moldy cheese can be used as a power source, why not?)

Roger is not smart enough to play chess on these, but he
is smart enough to break the chess board over the villain's head.

You pull out the Knight piece, slide it across the bar to a beautiful woman and say, "You up for a 'Knight' to remember?"

*groan!!! @ Larry's line*
Roger uses a hand-held drill to drill small holes in the checker piece. Then he grabs the small spikes from a thorn bush (ow!) and fits them into the holes. Now, before Sludge Vohaul (the Big Bad!
) can shrink him, Roger uses the checker piece (which is now like a Japanese-style shuriken, or throwing star) against Sludge!

The rook piece is actually the key to a hidden door in Castle Borgov. The Hero place the piece in the hole and turns. The Hero swears he hears someone in the distance say "You open the door."

Sir Graham has no idea what this device is, but after he squeezes a thin piece of metal, the device emits a sound like the clap of thunder. A shadow then covers Sir Graham. He narrowly avoids being crushed as a giant falls from the sky. Graham sets the device down and quietly walks away from the scene.

The DynaTAC rings, which makes Sonny jump because he thought it was a brick. He hesitantly picks it up and gets Directory Assistance. Unfortunately, the reception is very xxxxxxshaaaashhhh. Sonny throws it into the dumpster and sticks with his walkie-talkie.
