Re: The Poorly Described Game... um, game.

I remember a PC game where I led a team against an enemy force in a foreign land.

Nope. It's based on a conflict that's more recent than any war in Europe.
Okay, what are you talking about?Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 3:45 pm Oh? *thinks* There are many (recent) war games that are still based in WW2. (COD and Battlefield V spring to mind). But never mind.
No, it's not. When I wrote "foreign," I wrote it from a North American perspective.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 3:45 pm Is the foreign land somewhere in America (i.e. the continent, either North America or South America)?
Well... if you spend a few minutes looking up WW2 games beyond the Call of Duty series or Battlefield series, you'll find that there are quite a few games set in that era aren't the "gung-ho, shoot-'em-up, give-'em-hell-boys" games you claim them all to be. Many involve stealth, secret operations, sniping, etc.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 3:45 pm It would make a welcome change from all the "gung-ho, shoot-'em-up, give-'em-hell-boys" games that litter the WW2-game market. Just thinking aloud...
Fair enough. I thought that maybe it could be about the Grenada conflict. *shrug* Not sure if there are any games about that.DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 4:41 pmNo, it's not. Hint: This game takes place in a post-WW2 conflict that's NOT in Europe or the Americas, and you're playing as some segment of the US military.
I'm sorry; I never claimed that every war game is a "shoot-'em-up". I simply observed that many of them are.DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 4:41 pmWell... if you spend a few minutes looking up WW2 games beyond the Call of Duty series or Battlefield series, you'll find that there are quite a few games set in that era aren't the "gung-ho, shoot-'em-up, give-'em-hell-boys" games you claim them all to be. I could suggest a few if you want.
No, sorry, you didn't offend me. I've had a very short temper lately because for the last two weeks I've been experiencing non-stop excruciating pain in my back and neck. Most of it is muscle pain and inflammation, but some of it is nerve pain as well. Add in a few migraines, and I've not been someone you want to be around.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 1:55 am But it's clear that I've offended or confused you, and I didn't mean to. I also don't wish to argue, so I apologise. Please do suggest a few, and I'll look into them.
Yes. Okay, fine, I'll be more specific. This game takes place in Vietnam.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 1:55 am Hmm. Was the conflict portrayed in this game somewhere in Asia - e.g. Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, Afghanistan? *thinks*
So, post WW2 (and not in Europe or US soil) - and not in the Middle East.
None of the above. The highly specialized group you're a part of in this game exists in real life and is under the command of a real branch of the United States military, but I can't say more without completely giving away the answer.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 4:00 pm Neither do I. All I can go by is what I can find on google.
The team that you lead - is it regular infantry, or marines, or air force (fighters or helicopters)?
Yes, it's on that list somewhere. I won't say where or under what category, however.Tawmis wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 4:34 pm Is the title of the game one of these mentioned on the Wiki site?

Wasn't expecting you to! Narrowing it down to guess is half the fun. But at least there's a road map to use as clues with questions asked!DeadPoolX wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 5:34 pmYes, it's on that list somewhere.
