Hmmm, I have Stunt Island, and nowhere on there does it say it's a Sierra game.

I always thought it was a sierra title, I know it came out under the Disney interactive (same as Black Cauldron, Mickey Space Adventure and Donald Duck Playground). But I could be wrong.

It's not a Sierra game according to this entry on Mobygames. But honestly, who cares? When does it say you can ONLY mention Sierra games?

I didn't say he couldn't mention other games. I'm just saying that one isn't a Sierra game.

Not that I care, though. Just saying.

True. However, it doesn't say "only Sierra games and nothing else." ;)

Except for the Shivers games there is an SHP installer for all of the Sierra games in that list. You can use the Squirt the Cat installer for Shivers 2.

Thanks for the info, but I wont be playing most of these. I usually pick the games up to add to my collection. I just love admiring the packaging, booklets, extras, etc.

Now dont get me wrong. I do play the crap out of them but I have an entire digital collection I use for that. This is just for my shelves/Display cases.

The first thing that I do when I get a new game is to archive all of the files on the disks, unless I already have the same version archived. After I have done that I never need to use the media again. I see this as no different than someone that collects comic books and processes them by carefully sealing each individually in a plastic bag with a stiff piece of acid free cardboard.

I guess that my reasoning is more of a matter of preservation/archival motives than it is simple possession of "collectables". I also try to collect different versions to add greater compatibility to my installers. I don't collect "abandonware" versions because they are usually hacked/cracked/ripped or otherwise modified with home made "fixes" and mismatched drivers. They usually have more issues than the originals. This was part of the problems with the 2006 collections. Ignoring the legal reasons, they are worthless to me for building my installers.

I agree with you 100% on preservation!!! When I knew I had a problem with my collection was the time I bought 3 Police Quest I EGA copies, not because I needed them but because I was afraid someone else would buy them and not take care of it as well as I would.
