My main complaint about it outside of its bugginess is the poor voice acting. Otherwise and enjoyable game.

For me, it was the interface and the slow walk speed.

I won't argue against that. I do prefer having the ability to switch between walk and run. And the interface was rather clumsy.

That was one thing Moebius did right. If you didn't want to wait for Malachi to slowly walk places, you could double-click somewhere on the screen and he'd reappear at that location.

Yes, the running, the bugs, the off-mark hotspots and the spinning camera were all a bit nasty and I don't think I picked up much of the plot... But I liked most puzzles and the general weirdness.
So... now what? I still have Mystery Of The Druids lying around...

I'd know how to do it for an SCI game, but Sanitarium? Not off hand. Even so, you'd still have the awful UI, as DPX noted.

Worst game I have for voice acting is Alice In Wonderland for CD-i, Dutch dub of the remake of the Commodore adventure game. One of the problems is the characters actually have to sing - if you are approaching the finale and get stuck, you'll end up singing 15 songs (like Pop Goes The Weasel) to 20 different characters.
Anyway, today I found a lot of cd-I's at a flea market. I collect all sorts, the infotainment as well, eventually came home with 4 of them. Two are info things about the Forbidden City and general infos, and the other two are the games Who Shot Johnny Rock? (looks like a Mad Dog McCree thing) and Zenith, a 3D pinball game. Looking forward to exploring them...

That Zenith thing is embarrassingly bad. It spent three years in production limbo and looks painfully cheap - apart and beyond that, the game concept is silly. Basically it's a bouncing ball you have to move around on a downscrolling board.

I'm getting the 1995 game Fort Boyard - The Challenge (Dutch version, a collection of minigames to the theme of the French 1995-era Fort Boyard game show) to run on the laptop. Kind of silly since the game did work on my Dino upstairs, anyway... It's heavy on videos and it jammed twice before I even had a chance to play the first minigame.
(...come to think of it, I need to find a regular mouse before I can play some of the games, that archery one will be a nightmare on a touchpad)

OK that was a bit of a fuss but... Fort Boyard - The Challenge wouldn't run in compatibility mode. I could get it to run in DOSBox but at some provisions: the first time I started the game, the audio'd hiccup and it'd jam, second time I got it to play most of the intro, and on third and subsequent times I found it would not play (and jam on, requiring killing DOSBox and then starting again) every time it hit a new movie. It would load movies I'd already seen. So after about 20 tries, I got to the middle part of the game, and got chucked out again. Gave up for the day.
Tried today with an ISO, the first time I did that on my own, and I just finished with a spot on the Hall Of Fame-list. Runs well!
...I still need to find a mouse. Some of the minigames have game-killing controls.
Anyway, still some of my favourite game music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAC358yaNJ0Dutch version, and seriously, I used to be fond of the guy who does the voice until I first played the archery game here, argh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwi-9dSP58Y That's cute, same guy from the TV shows does the voice for Père Fouras.
