Leisure Suit Larry III (my 4th copy)
Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire (3rd Copy)
MAABUS (2 complete copies)
Heart of China (my 3rd Copy)
Kings Quest I (my 3rd copy)
Kings Quest III (2 copies - This puts me at 5 copies)
Kings Quest II - Silver Box (2 copies)
Space Quest I EGA (my 3rd copy)

So I have to ask - why do you get more than one copy? I get it if there's different box covers, maybe for that reason... But is that the case with all of these?

Like I know there isn't 4 different versions of LSLIII's cover...

I don't know about cpages2, but I end up with multiple copies for different reasons. I might find one that is in better shape or a more complete package than the one I already own, I might get another copy as part of a package deal or I find another for a good deal and get it to give, sell or trade. In these cases it is not my intent to keep the extras. The only ones I intend to keep are because of different packages or different game versions, the latter to help add support to the SHP installers for as many versions as possible.

My reason is 100% preservation and collecting to be honest. My goal is to just keep collecting and make sure I have a huge collection of well taken care of games that are with someone will take care of them.

I deal with buying games almost every day of the year and a lot of times just to get one game I want I have to take 3 or 4 I may already have or are not 100% interested in. Although Sierra has my die hard love, I also generally just collect PC games from the late 70's to early 2000's as a hobby.

To most people it doesn't make sense but to me it just makes me happy to see my collection always growing!

Just verified that one does (the 'half-height'). But silly me, both the drives I acquired are low density, and all I have to test them with are HD floppies. The drive powered up, and I could reference it, but it did not like the media.

Do these things have value (besides collectible)? Are your chances better at reading a low-density floppy in a low density drive? Or am I looking at a pair of space-wasters here?

Time to go off hunting for LD floppies.

Half a year of delay, but here's a picture of it, the inside of my Mystery House folder (On-Line Systems release).

MusicallyInspired wrote:I took some pictures of my new Loom CD acquisition. I have the slipcase it came with, but I put it in a nice DVD case with some artwork I had printed out. Most of my LucasArts adventure collection is done the same way and looks quite nice on the shelf together.
I just snagged a copy that is in pristine shape that also includes the Audio Drama CD. It was just the 2 CDs, jewel case and insert manual, all in mint condition. I already had a copy of the floppy version complete with box and the Book of Patterns.

And there are SHP installers for all of those.
