I though it might be easier to have everything all in one place. The new Madlib is Part 4.
MANHUNTER 3: LONDON
Part 1:
Continues from the end of
Manhunter 2.
The Manhunter
GINGERLY clung on to Phil’s ship as it streaked east through the sky. His fingers were quickly becoming
METALLIC. After what seemed like an eternity, the ship finally began to descend. The Manhunter recognized the city: London. The city looked like most cities after the Orbs invaded:
PLASTIC. Exhausted, the Manhunter finally lost his grip and fell from the ship. Fortunately, he was over the Thames River and fell into the water with a
SHOWER. He swam to shore and began to think of his next move. He couldn’t let Phil get away again.
The Manhunter checked his inventory and found he had lost everything in the river. On the ground, he found a
GINGER. He thought it might be useful and put it in his robe. He wandered
SILENTLY through the city and found himself in Piccadilly Circus. He found it so strange to see it completely devoid of activity, save for a few homeless people lining the streets. As he stood there, someone came up from behind him and pulled a sack over his head. He smelled a
CLEAR odor: some sort of knock-out gas. He quickly lost consciousness.
The Manhunter awoke and felt very
STAINED. He was in a dark room. It sounded (and smelled) like he was deep underground. After a few minutes, several robed figures entered the room. The leader, a
TALENTED man spoke: “We know that you are the Manhunter who liberated New York and San Francisco. We have a plan to free the whole world, but we need your help.”
“My name is
KRISTOPHER OLIVIA,” the Manhunter replied.

Part 2
The leader of the Resistance explained the situation to Kristopher: they had managed to
JAUNT a device that would let them gain access to an Orb orbital weapon. The person who had the device was pursued by a Manhunter. The person had gone missing, but the Resistance managed to capture the Manhunter and take his MAD (Manhunter Assignment
DEMON). “We hope this will be
COLORFUL,” the leader said as he gave Kristopher the MAD. Kristopher turned on the MAD and watched the
ORANGE icon of the target move through the city. The last destination was Westminster Abbey where the signal was lost.
Kristopher went to the Abbey and found the door had been broken. He
BOLDLY entered. It was
ELEGANTLY quiet and found no one there. He knew that the target had to have gone underground for the signal to be lost. He searched and finally found Henry the VII’s Chapel which held the tombs of Elizabeth I, Henry VII and Mary Queen of Scots. The floor had scuff marks as if something had moved. Nearby, he found a wall sconce. He turned the sconce and the tomb of Henry VII moved away with a
TICK-TOCK, revealing a stairway. “
HOLY SIMMERING RAKSHASA IN WHITE WINE SAUCE AND SHALLOTS, BATMAN!” Kristopther quietly muttered as he
QUIETLY descended the stairs.
At the bottom of the stairs, he found a
GINGERLY lit room. A body lay on the floor. The man had been stabbed multiple times and a “P” was carved on the victim’s forehead.
“Phil.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part 3
The body was not that of the person Kristopher was looking for. He searched the room for clues. The room itself was very
SWEATY and looked like a
SCALEY office. Papers and file folders were
JUMPED everywhere, no doubt by Phil looking for clues too. Kristopher was about to give up when he noticed a
DRY postcard of London pinned to a cork board. Unlike everything else on the board, it looked like it had been placed there recently. On the back was written: “Find me in the first Bulldog inside the bird.” He pondered what the message could mean. He thought maybe the bulldog could refer to Winston Churchill, “The British Bulldog”… but the “bird”? “
HOLY MELTED CHEDDAR SLICE ON A PIECE OF BUTTERED TOAST AND A SIDE ORDER OF BACON WITH A CUP OF AMERICANO COFFEE, BATMAN!” he shouted. “Canary Wharf! Churchill Place is in Canary Wharf!” (He was glad he took a tour of London all those years ago before the Orbs came.)
Canary Wharf, once the
HOLY financial center of London, was now dark and
UNHOLY. Many of the buildings were damaged from the invasion. Building after building was boarded up. When he finally got to One Churchill Place (the “first Bulldog”), he noticed some boards had been removed. He
GINGERLY entered. Inside he found who he was looking for. She
TASTEFULLY approached Kristopher: “I have the device to take control of the orbital weapon, but we don’t have much time. The Orbs plan on using it on New York and San Francisco in retaliation for being liberated!”

Part 4 (The Conclusion)
Under cover of darkness, Kristopher and
SHIERA THE ENGINEERA went to Buckingham Palace where the control center for the orbital weapon was located. The removed a manhole cover and crawled down into the
RED,
HEAVY sewer. “We’ve been scouting these tunnels for weeks,” she said. “We’ve managed to find a secret entrance into the palace. Once inside, we should be able to take control of the weapon and turn it on the Orbs.” After several minutes, they finally reached a stairway into the palace.
“I have a map to the control room, but we need to be
ROYAL,” she said
GENTLY. “Robot patrols are everywhere.” Their confidence in the success of their mission began to grow as they
EVIDENTLY made their way through the palace corridors. But this quickly faded as they turned a corner. Ahead of them was Phil, grinning
QUIETLY. He was flanked by two Orbs and two guard robots. “Surrender humans!” said one of the Orbs. (Kristofer couldn’t tell which one. They were the “eye” Orbs and had no mouths.) It seemed hopeless. In an act of desperation, Kristopher threw the ginger he had found earlier at the Orbs. Almost immediately, the Orbs gave out a
SILVER scream. “Ginger! We are deathly allergic to ginger! Robots! Take us from here!” That left only Phil who approached them wielding the dull knife that had killed so many others. Kristopher grabbed a sword from a nearby suit of armor. “
I'LL BE BACK!” He parried Phil’s attempt to stab him and ran him through with the sword.
With the control room unguarded, they attached the device to the main computer. They watched
LIGHTLY as the orbital weapon began destroying Orb installations all over the Earth, one by one. Without the support of their ships and robots, the Orbs will be helpless against the human uprising. The occupation was finally over.
THE END
Chekhov's Ginger: Ginger introduced in Part 1 will be used in Part 4.
