I'm looking forward into diving into King's Quest V... that game stumped me so many times... and most of the puzzles I can't remember... so I foresee a lot of speeding up of the video, rather than me just wandering around aimlessly trying to trigger my memory of the Sierra Logic to solve various puzzles...

Or you could just browse through a walkthrough before hand to refresh your memory.

So far, the only one I used a walk thru for was KQ2 (and that was once, to find the stupid stake)... And, well, technically, since I didn't want to dig out my manuals, I used a walk through for KQIII for all of the spells.

Sometimes I edit the video, to remove me wandering around aimlessly, until I remember how to do something. Then restore back, and then move forward, which is why there's so many save games (uploaded in the thread) - each one has like four or five folders of save games.

Surprisingly, despite the difficulty... King's Quest V was finished in a day...

I can't count, how many times, however - that I had forgotten to start the save when I came back to play (after eating, going to Home Depot, feeding the dogs, walking the dogs, etc) - so, I had to keep restoring back to a earlier game and repeating my moves... which, I suppose, works out because over all - I died fewer times this way. (Other than the random encounters with Mordack in his castle...)

So going to edit and splice it up and upload it, hopefully by Sunday Night.

The struggle is real... so I've noticed it in my other Sierra videos so far... that once rendered, it gets pixelated (randomly) - and from that point of the video onward, it never "recovers" and continues to be pixelated. Didn't worry about it with KQ1-IV, because graphics aren't spiffy... but with KQV I noticed it near the end... tried a few different things... because it'd get to the maze part, and go to hell, each and every time... so now I am rendering it in small pieces, to see if I can narrow it down.

Well, after trying a few things (breaking it up into individual files) - that worked. But when I put it all together, it got pixelated.

So rather than save as an MP4, I saved it as an AVI (much larger file size), but it seems to have resolved the issue.

So after my 8pm training, I will upload the non commentary version of KQV and see if I can get the commentary audio all sorted. :)

Compare the two (especially looking at Graham)...
MP4
MP4
vs
AVI
AVI

Well. I figured out how to save as MP4, as the AVI was 525GB.

I forgot that for Christmas, my wife, has got me the upgrade to Sony Vegas for Christmas  , to be able to burn BluRay discs (my plan once I get around to finishing Neverending Nights in HD)... So installing that seems to have solved the pixelating issue with the files.

The interface is a little different (naturally) - so it took some getting used to. But last night, I saved and checked and the file looked perfect!

Now that I have my custom URL and plan on doing more of these, I even made a little intro for all my future videos. Which can now be seen in King's Quest V.
The commentary version will probably be up tonight. Need to fix some of the audio.

Looks like you didn't have aspect correction set. It should be set for all of the Sierra games up to the VESA games.

King's Quest VI play through...
I ended up cutting out me lost in the Minotaur cavern (and using the walk through), I cut out me dying (a lot) on the Cliffs of Logic (and used the walk through), and a few other places where I died - frequently.
The video is almost 6 hours in length (long play)...! I don't expect ANYONE to watch this monster.

The commentary is sped up in several parts, and knocks it down to 4 hours (not done), and I made a "super sped up" which is one hour which I plan to do a KQVI summary commentary for. :D
Those are, however, not ready.

Any reason you did not use the Win version? It has the high-res dialog pics and you get the CDA "Girl in the Tower" at the end.
