I haven't had a chance to try
Alien Swarm yet, but it would be fun to play with other people we know from here.

Lol. Silly me. It was late. I scrolled through looking for it but somehow missed it. My bad.

Steam has
a sale on all id Software and Bethesda games. The QuakeCon pack has 27 titles for $69.99 (originally $300 value) including:
Steam wrote:Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
Commander Keen (all of them except Keen Dreams)
DOOM 3
DOOM 3 Resurrection of Evil
DOOM II
Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
Final DOOM
Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders
HeXen II
HeXen: Beyond Heretic
HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel
Master Levels for Doom II
Quake
Quake Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon
Quake Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity
Quake II
Quake II Mission Pack: Ground Zero
Quake II Mission Pack: The Reckoning
Quake III Arena
Quake III Team Arena
Return to Castle Wolfenstein

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion GOTY Deluxe
The Ultimate Doom
Wolfenstein 3D
I'm surprised they don't have Heretic II on Steam at all, though.

The final installment for the King's Quest games is now on GOG. The package includes
King's Quest VII and MoE for $9.99. I have tested MoE on my Win7-64 and can testify that it does indeed run. I have yet to play through to the ax scene to check for the lock up. I will probably get around to it later tonight.

Was wondering if anyone here had tried the new versions of King's Quest 7 & 8 from GOG.com
I'm mainly interested in KQ8 and how it runs, and wether Collector will be creating a new installer with whatever bugfixes GOG made to their version. Ive yet to have a problem with one of their releases, so Im assuming they fixed everything.

See
here for Collector talking about KQ8, at least.

Do you think if they wanted to, they could modify the Win version of KQ6 to run natively with Windows Vista and 7?

I actually stumbled across this news yesterday -- I was doing a search on Mask of Eternity and Windows 7 on behalf of a friend who was trying to get it to run in Windows 7. Imagine my surprise to discover that a Vista/7-compatible version of MOE had been released scarcely 24 hours earlier!

No, but you can add it yourself. I am working on a related project right now that you may be interested in.
audiodane wrote:MusicallyInspired wrote:Does it come with an OpenGL wrapper to get the cool Glide effects?
Doesn't DOSBox support OpenGL/Glide? Or are we talking a Win executable?
..dane
Purely Win32, so no DOSBox. Besides, for Glide in DOSBox you need a special, unsupported build of DOSBox.

We're talking MOE. MOE won't work in DOSBox
