Ok so I have a friend who's never played ANY computer adventure game. He's played video games for years, but no PC adventures. Anyway, I want to let him play one so I can see if he would like them or not. So I was wondering what a good one for him to play would be. Sierra, of course. Preferably I would like one with a good story and one that's interesting to play, but not one that's hard for someone unknowing in the ways of adventures. At first I was thinking Sins of the Fathers, but I remembered how hard many parts of it can be, even when you are experienced at these games. So what would you suggest?

Another thing, though, is that I don't want to have to purchase a game specifically for this, so I kind of only want suggestions of games that I have. To see my list, go to the other topic I made in this forum.

Thanks! :D

Depends. Would he like something humorous, dramatic, horror/suspenseful or fanciful?

Collector beat me to it - what kind of personality does he have?

Well....tough question. I would say either dramatic/suspenseful, or comedic.

Gabriel Knight and LSL comes to mind first. If he gets frustrated easily or is impatient, you may need to sit next to him, helping him out as to not get discouraged. Most 'video game' players like video games for their quick thinking, action, go go go tendencies. :)

If he doesn't mind primitive, he could try SQ1 if you have that. It's comedic, with action and suspense in it...

Great suggestions! I'll probably get him to play either GK or SQ1.

One more question though. If I go with SQ1, EGA or VGA?

For a new guy - I'd do the VGA. More appeasing to the eye.

He will probably find the point and click interface less frustrating than the typing parser, too.
