I just have to brag a bit about my new monitor :D

It's an ASUS 24" MK241H monitor, which just arrived today. It's totally awesome!

It cost me $565 here in denmark, but as seen on Newegg it's a bit cheaper for people in US :)

Oh and this monitor actually have the 4:3 aspect ratio too. Nice 8-)

/envious

I have a 19 inch monitor that I love... but it certainly isn't THAT special!

Congrats on the monitor. Even if you were deaf for five days because of the illness, even if you were blind, I am sure you'd be able to see with that monitor! :)

LOL
Oh yeah baby - you bet! It fills 2/3 of my desk :D
The colors and clearness is amazing, so crisp and fine.
I've been on the lookout for a widescreen monitor, that also had the 4:3 ratio, but they are hard to find, so I when I came across it, I had to have it.
I think my old mother will get my old 19" monitor instead of the 17 she has now.

Hey, living alone with no kids or better half to spend money on and in a one bedroom rented apartment, what else should I use my hard earned money on?
At least my mother benefits from it once in a while...lol.

Ok, think I have rubbed enough for today ;)

No! I mean of the monitor! Not of you! (Of course if you were in it, it'd be better, sure...)

After using the same 17 inch 4:3 CRT monitor for almost ten years, I've just recently made the move to a widescreen LCD monitor, 21 inches. As nice as it is, older games still look a little odd (stretched out due to lack of support for 16:9/16:10 aspect ratio-compliant resolutions). That's probably my main gripe with it.

DOSBox games shouldn't stretch out though, do they? I have a wide screen at work and it seems fine.

Er. Not that I play games at work...

;)

Well currently I am posting... and not playing a game. Also - for two weeks in the executive supporting building - no games for me. :(

You can set DOSBox's resolution in the configuration file for any aspect, so most DOS games do look alright. Older Windows games (probably from 1996 and on), though, are sometimes pre-determined and don't get a list of supported resolutions from your video adapter.
