Hope you all had a great Christmas. I bought Dragon Age Origins for my nephew cause you all said it was awesome (and he wanted it). Also got him a game called Badlands.... anybody here played that one?
Also, my nephew was accepted to Holy Cross, a Jesuit run college about 40 miles west of Boston. He's just over the moon. Now if he can only get that full scholarship he's after, he'll actually be able to go there.

Merry Christmas all! It's been exciting for me...
On Christmas Eve - coming home from work, the car engine seized up and died. It's at the shop - and they're not open until Monday.
On Christmas Day - Amiee made the discovery that the water heater in the back exploded and was leaking everywhere.
At this rate, I can't wait to see what Fate has in store for us for New Years Eve & New Years...!

Aw Tawm! That sucks!
We share your misery: our car decided to stop working on Christmas Eve, and it's still not going anywhere. We don't know what's wrong, but we thought it was a lack of petrol (our car takes both LPG and petrol, it needs regular gasoline to start up, and if you primarily drive on LPG you tend to forget to fill up the petrol). So we walked to the nearest gas station to get some. It didn't work . But now the house smells of petrol too.
Now that it's no longer freezing, we fired her up today but no dice.

BBP and Tawmis, I'm so sorry to hear your Christmases weren't so good. *sends hugs and positive vibes* I hope the rest of the holiday season goes better for you!
I did three concerts leading up to Christmas - Handel's Messiah (the 4th in 4 years); a nice carols concert (including some traditional carols but also some by Vivaldi, Bach, Saint-Saens, Holst etc.); and a 'Carols in the Park' concert, a fun little event to ensure that the local council gives our choir the grant that we need to keep going.
Also my boss decorated the office with a Christmas tree, a little Nativity scene, and lots and lots of tinsel, little Santas, bells and balls and all kinds of tinselly things... *L* And, most bizarrely, little tiny teddy bears with Santa hats and saxophones. So ok, the Santa hats I can understand, but what do saxophones have to do with Christmas...? *confused*

Thanks Rath! Our car is now back home. The petrol pump broke down, the mechanic said we'd let the petrol level run too low. The car doesn't drive very smoothly now, but at least it's going somewhere!
Christmas was fun, though. We watched much Hitchcock!

So, are you a Hitchcock fan?
