Running Windows 98 in DOSBox?

Post by SierraDude81 »

Hey Everyone!

I've heard it's possible to install and run Windows 3.1 in DOSBox almost perfectly, but has anyone had any luck with Windows 98?

It is possible to install Win95 by booting from a disk image, but it is not supported. Because you can only run it from booting a disk image, you lose all access to your PC's drives, including CD-ROM. At this point it is only worth it to say that you can. It is not really usable. There is no aim to add support for 9x to DOSBox, but who knows about some point in the future. For now, you are better off using a virtualizer, like Virtual PC.
