Missing a KQ Collection disk? Plus other lost goodies...

Post by Jules »

A friend gave me a couple of old PQ, SQ games and in some of the boxes he threw in mismatched cd's in ziplock baggies.

Inside was an incomplete KQ Collection, the purple disks 1 and 3. Since I already own this collection, these are up for grabs in case you're missing a disk. There's no disk 2.

There's also a KQ4 hint book with the red 'adventure window'. The hint book is small and white with red text.

Also, a KQ5 cd version (1.000.052), just the disk, nothing else.

As well as Return to Zork in the original jewel case with a thick manual/pamphlet thingie inside.

This media is not tested so they're given, "as is". If any of you want these little orphans, let me know. ;)

I'd be interested in the KQ4 hint book.

Wow, what a coincidence...

Way back when I first found CD 1 from the 15th Anniversary KQ Collection (it's a long story), I wrote to Sierra asking if they could provide me with CD 2. They sent me CD 2...but it was the one for the 1998 collection, not the 15th Anniversary one.

I bought the complete 1998 collection a bit later, but I've been stuck with this extra CD 2 for about ten years. If someone is interested in the complete 1998 KQ collection, I'd be willing to donate my extra CD.

Collector, I'll send out the KQ4 hint book as soon as I'm near a post office.

Akril, when I posted this, I could've sworn someone mentioned a KQC/double disk/mishap problem and turns out it's you! What a coincidence. :)

So then, there's a complete KQC (disks only) and it's up for grabs. I have disks 1 and 3; Akril has disk 2.

If no one else wants it, I'll take the Zork, too. For anyone that wants the KQ games, this is the collection to get. Not only does it have all of the real KQ games, but the KQ7 that is included is version 2, the best version with the fewest problems. It is essentially the same as the Roberta Williams Anthology minus chapter one of Phantasmagoria. And don't forget, there is the SHP installer for it, too.

Something of Kings Quest would be nice.
Although that box thing is incomplete unless Akril wants to part from it as well.

Else KQ 5 would be fine as well. I don't own any Kings quest related material.

That collection has them all and with the best versions. It is the collection that VU, Steam and GOG should have started from. In addition, it also includes the Laura Bow games, a number of the Apple games and more. If you want any of the KQ games, this is what you should get.

Akril, do you mind sending me your KQC disk 2 to me? Then I'll send the complete collection to Qbix in one package instead of each of us sending two. I'll PM you.

I replied to your PM. As I told you, I'm willing to part with my extra disc. I'm glad that I've finally found a place where it can be of use.

Unlike the VU/Steam collection, the games from this collection don't need patching.
