Since GOG has now started adding the Sierra titles to their catalog, SHP has become an affiliate partner of GOG. If you don't have an account with GOG yet, If you set one up through this link, you can help SHP.

DARN!
Why in the world did they jump the gun - when GOG still have their countdown on. :(
Right now there's still 4 hours to go.

On the other hand that's WAY to cool and awesome news. FINALLY one could say, lol :D

Weird that gog.com agreed? to let it spoil this way.

Maybe we will see some sierra games as well, hopefully in better "packaging" as the steam version.

This was on the GK Campaign board, but not every one here visits it, so:

Most here probably already have GK1. If you do not, this will be your chance.

It would be so easy to to develop a far better package in very little time.

That might be awesome to get. Because I have the CD version of the game and it requires a CD to play. Which is fine - but on my travel laptop (that I take on trips) doesn't have a CD Player - I have an external USB DVD Burner that I use as the CD Player, but one less thing to carry is that much better. And that's a fair price for such a great game.

One can hope. I'd like to see other games released there. They stand to make a good profit possibly.

BTW: LOL and More LOL

I will see if I can merge all of these into one thread.

It's possible to play the CD version without the CD if you copy all the files to the hard drive AFTER installing the game and redirecting the pathways from resource.cfg to the pathways on your hard drive.

For the DOS version, anyway.

I believe that Tawm was taking about Arcanum, not GK1. Using the SHP GK1 installer will setup CD-less play.

No worries at all! I would personally have people informing us multiple times than not at all! :) I just wanted you to know your topic was merged so you didn't think it got deleted! So by all means, if you hear of other Sierra games on Gog.com please post them over here on the forum! :) Better to be over informed than not informed at all!

Wouldn't it be possible to do the same with Arcanum? Granted, the file size is a lot larger than GK1, but if all the information was copied over, you'd think it would work.

It would not be using a RESOURCE.CFG. Arcanum is not a true Sierra game. It was developed by Troika. At the time that it was released, Sierra was not much more than a publishing house. While you are right in that it could be done, I'm not familiar enough with the mechanics of Arcanum to say how you would do it, but it is late enough that there might be some kind of DRM, even if nothing more than a simple CD check. It might be done with a simple config file edit (providing that the file is human readable), but chances are that it might require a No-CD crack. I would have to try it to say for sure.

I actually meant GK1 CD. I have the SHP Installer. But I didn't know it took away the need for the CD. I have been putting the CD in the computer because I thought it still needed it...
