GK 2 The Beast Within (cannot install on XP)

Hello, I am new user on this board.

I recently purchased this game, because I was able to get it for less than $10, and I heard it was an awesome game.

My main computer runs Windows 7 64 bit, so I decided to try this game out on my older laptop that runs Windows XP. I have done some research and tried downloading a patch for XP, and have tried DOSBox etc... Everything I have tried does not work. Is it because I don't already have it installed on my computer? If so, how can I get it installed, and then play it? Also, I had never used DOS before...
